“Blooming” and “Flying” may sound like typical metaphor for success~ but the reason why a dandelion seed was used as a main metaphor here was that IU wanted to encourage those who do not have a definite wanted path.. like saying, you can still “bloom” and “fly high” even if you do not know where the wind/life can take you

홀씨 (Holssi) TITLE In ‘CHAT-SHIRE’, the first album I took part in producing in my 20s, I used a bunch of flowers as a metaphor for my age (23), whether they are fancy flowers or small flowers. Back then, I believed that I would be in full bloom when the time comes. In my 30s, I realized that there’s no reason and no need for everything in the world to become flowers, so I’ve decided to live as a holssi (dandelion seed) fluttering insignificantly in the sky. Like a shopper who doesn’t get tired of (shopping), I want to look around and roam about without a destination in mind, putting in my shopping cart various options that are on display from everywhere in my world.

Love that positive message with IU that letting go of the cord at the end, allowing her have the full freedom to fly. A new beginning. This makes a huge contrast to her Ending Scene MV, where she is hesitant to cut the cord and that was never revealed.

Final Edit: I stand corrected after seeing her mini album interview - this is about her ambition in general. That shes an ambitious person and will do what she wants to do even if others think its difficult or crazy - its her choice. ❤ Still fire as always 💕💕 🔥👑 Original comment below: She's finally going international ya'll. Years ago she said she wanted to stay local to Korea and wasn't interested in expanding, but I think she's coming for the rest of the world now with her tour and her music 😭💕💕🙌🏾 Holssi is letting us know and I'm so excited for the rest of this album! So good!! Edit: This is my interpretation of the video and song but i could be wrong. Ive been a huge fan of IU since 2011! I love her music. I think she stays true to herself no matter the genre. And i love that she sings primariky in Korean. I think its beautiful ❤ I am by no means saying shes changing if this is her intention (going international), i think shes just trying something new and doing more for herself. And its not a bad thing if thats the case. Overall i just want more people to know about this phenomenal singer and person. I think we need more music like hers over in the west. @@TheTruthX7 Honestly she's not trying to make it globally I think they/you misunderstood her meaning, flying high meaning in terms of her acting, music, new genres' new styles trying and she just gonna go with flow like a spore not forcing anything. she already has bbibbi and other songs that are similar to this one. Just because she filmed this in LA doesn't mean she wants to go global and she's having a world tour because her fans have begged her for years to have a concert overseas. 가사를 어쩜 이렇게 쓸 수 있을까..노래부르는 것도 홀씨가 부유하듯 소리가 가볍게 흩날리는 느낌.. 아이유 좋아하긴 했지만 love wins all에서 엄청 충격이고 감동이었는데 홀씨에서는 또 다르게 충격이고 감탄하게 되네. 대단한 아티스트다.

This song came out exactly at the right time, I just graduated and feeling lost these past few months.. but time flies too fast, and I miss my routine.. studying, talking to my friends, and eating delicious food with them.. Now all of us walking on different paths, running for our own dreams.. And not gonna lying but I feel and I am afraid that I will start from zero again, from the bottom of this ladder.. When I scrolled down into these comments, I found a translation of this line "The road ahead won't be easy, but I won't fuss about it. This was my choice, it always has been. The odds of it being easy is zero." This line suddenly made me realize that this was my choice from the beginning.. From the first time I took this path, I knew it wouldn't be easy but I also said to myself that I can absolutely rock the path I choose. I forgot this side of me, and.. I wanna say thank you for reminding me about my old self..
