There's a clear difference to me. The Encore is very clearly louder and the bass reaches down to lower frequencies. The differences aren't huge, but they're obvious to my ears.

Awesome! I'm glad to see TWS works :D I guess Encore + Encore Essential is a good way to go stereo (vs 1 x 110). I'm still torn about not having tripod speaker holes.

That’s the same thing I was thinking. That honestly would make sense since the are essentially going with the party vibe with their lineup. Nonetheless I’m happy with it. I haven’t even cracked past 30% volume because it’s pretty loud already.

The differences in sound likely boils down to different DSP tuning, with the essential being slightly leaner in terms of bass since it has a much weaker battery (2 cells vs 3 with the encore), so the battery life would be even shorter if JBL tuned the bass more aggressively.

When you find out the price of 21700 5000mah li ion samsung 50S cells, you really start to wonder why jbl wouldn't just put 4 cells in this thing and make it a battery/performance beast with 20000mah. There is enough space inside. I've ordered the essential and I'll try to upgrade the battery setup and let you know what happens

plain encore has higher quality sound board (the amp - motherboard) which is why it sounded abit more powerful than the essential which has slighly cheaper amp board components. but they mostly the same. btw the more expensive one (encore) uses more watts on average.

I do think the encor is louder by a bit I think the bass between the two are relatively the same but the encore is louder by a bit I don't think it would really matter witch one you get of your looking for just a good speaker there pretty much the same

Of course it sounds the same! you do get the side lights and a little more "strobe" at least. Oh and a little more battery life! That's really a miss that JBL put the microphone preamp after the send for the TWS. That mic sound should have come through both speakers. Maybe the delay was too much if they ran through tws... And yeah, I can confirm, 2 Encore speakers is a very nice thing.

If you want to turn on the bass with the JBL charge 3 or 4, hold the bluetooth button and the minus button for 20 seconds, then all the lights will light up and the bass will work up to 1 Hz Lets tyed.

Yep, you're correct. The Encore has the advantage. I'd like to see how they compare to the PB 100/110. Is it simply a -3db difference, or do these single units have better frequency response? I swear they go lower. Not louder, but lower.

True, I've gone ahead and test the partybox 110 and the encore somehow the different in sound loudness is little but I swear the Encore is more deeper in terms of bass for some reason and the 110 can tump alittle bit more though I like the encore deeper and more resonance bass.

A single 110 plays deeper than a single Encore. Two Encore's in stereo is about as deep as a 110, but as with using two subs in stereo, they have a much easier time fighting dead spots and nulls in a room. This means that two Encore's set up in stereo will play much better and smoother than a single 110, especially indoors with about 8-12 feet between them. The Encure can trick you as it is one speaker playing mono, and that can lead to one thinking it plays deeper. This is because the single box 110 which does play stereo, can have a bit of a comb filtering tendency in some situations. But try and input a mono signal into both the Encore and the 110 so they essentially play in the same way, and you can hear that the two drivers in the 110 couple and thus help each other reach lower frequencies. Pros and cons to each setup, it all depends on what you are looking for.

I can't believe you missed it. If you are gonna have two or more speakers for a party and intend to use a mic to address people, you would expect your voice to come out of all connected speakers and not just one speaker. In this case, people in the back relying on the other speaker's sound will not hear what you are saying because while music comes through, they wont hear your voice when you talk on the mic because that doesn't come to the speaker closest to them. I thought it was obvious what i was testing so i didn't explain it and im sorry for the confusion.

Proprierity microphone on the encore is a worry. What if you lose your microphone or broke it. As of now can't seem to find it sold anywhere. You also cannot plug is other inputs such as a guitar. No mic input is a very VERY big miss from jbl
