Like many of the good sandbox modules I still recommend putting in something specific the characters are looking for. To be simple, just 'hook' each player with some magical artifact they are specifically looking for that legend says is buried in the Forbidden City.

Agreed with you on Erol Otus artwork, I love how is art portrays how scary these actual encounters would be and how the PC's are really just normal people in very abnormal situations.

I was annoyed at the time that we never found the main base of the Yuan Ti. I bought the module years later and felt like writing a letter of apology to my DM at the time. I've been populating buildings ever since and have three different bases for the Yuan-Ti. One for the Pure Bloods, one for the Half Breeds and a main temple complex for the abominations. A complex for were-rat spies and giant snake as well as a few remnants of former Good temples and items. I also built a storeroom for the goods they have been stealing again protected by a halfbreed and a collection of the guards they have here. There are also records of another ancient city they are sending Yuan Ti and supplies to , deeper in the Jungle as they begin to build a second breeding center for Yuan Ti as they attempt to rebuild their race and recapture their former glory. We banged around that city for a whole summer never realizing that the four or five yuan-ti we killed was all there was there. Love the Map and a lot of the atmosphere in this module and the encounters we were given. The lack of a force that was theoretically supposed to be the biggest central driving force in the city was incredibly annoying.

I really, really want a POD of this available again.

Excellent Job I enjoyed this Module but with that said the DM that ran this campaign was quite creative
