Yeah no, the DM for the second story. Yeah, your mom's a W. All Op was excited to play his character. I would never play with that DM ever again.

If my DM decided to punish my character every time I said I was excited, I wouldn't have a character left, lol. I'm CONSTANTLY texting him telling him how excited I am.

Honestly, i hate nearly everyone in the second story, sucked that even the OP's wife was screwing with him during that game... That DM was obviously the worst person, but everyone else also deserves their own share of the blame. Why does OP even play with these people?

I get that excitement thing. Happened to me once...in monopoly. Had a bad start to a game and almost resigned myself to being the first one out, but then I managed to somehow make a comeback so that I was on par with the other two players and naturally I was excited about this. So they teamed up specifically to take me out because they thought I was too cocky. Like...no, I was just excited that I had made a comeback.

For the first story, I gotta give the DM credit for being able to look back and realize they may not have handled things in the best way. That demonstrates a level of self-awareness which is usually absent from these stories. Also, I don't usually do this, but what kind of a name is "Maxdrill"? Sounds like a Pokemon, not an orc lol.

As a dm, when folks are excited for their characters, that makes me excited to see where they take it. Not to “knock them down a peg”. So dumb that half the dms out there ban stuff much less act like children to this degree.

Omg, mishandling other people's minis irritates me so much. People sink hours into painting those by hand, and being so rough with them that bits begin to fall off? That Andrew guy just needs to be banned altogether

That DM >_> Any DM who sets off right at the start to bully another player should *not* be a DM. If you've got a problem with that player, talk to them out of game and explain the issues you're having nicely, if the problem persists, they'd rather leave the game than be bullied out of it.

Story 2: Once again - *once again* - I keep asking, why do they go back?! If you encounter behavior like this, tell them they're all [bleeps], grab your stuff, and never come back.

That last story, I'd not only tell them to leave. But if they mishandled my property, Ohhhhhh boy I'd be pissed! I'll be honest I don't like it when people mess with my stuff as it makes me react like a wild beast. You could say a dragon protecting its treasures.

The No Excitement story is a good example of why players need veto buttons as much as GMs do. that kind of thing ruins a character forever, like how do you even respond to that? The fact that it was a old PC form the GM made it even worse cuz that essentially means it wasn't just an npc, it was 'him' doing it!

Geez... I am just sick of people thinking sexual assault is a good thing to put in a game. Sure, there's the rare group that's alright with exploring those darker themes, but it's almost always just used by some person who doesn't have empathy or understanding. Another example of communication and empathy not being present and that ruining things.

While I normally don't advocate for violence over TTRPG's, I make an exception when it comes to SA, I think if you are forced into a situation like that by the DM, then you get to roshambo them right in the junk, as hard as you can with a steel toe boot. Get to line it up field goal style and they can't move other wise you get to take another swing. If you as the player have to put up with mentally dealing with having your character SA'ed then the DM gets to physical experience your mental anguish.

In the Andrew's story I would not have let Gracie make stink butt Greasy mcstink butt. Touch my things right off the bat. And, he would have been kicked to the curb the instant he started making fun of my rules and hard work. Masticating. Love that term I haven't heard it used in ages.

That's a new variation on the "GM against the players" mindset: why bother to invent monsters to kill the player characters when you can just tell the players their characters are killing each other without input?

Whoa hold the heck up, is that Vaan with a damn undershirt poorly meshed right over his actual skin? I don't remember that! The whole time you read these stories and im just sitting here disturbed as I watch Vaan run around. It just looks so wrong. It stands out so badly.

That entire group, wife included, sounds unbelievably toxic. I would have flipped them all the bird and left at the gold being stolen.

As a DM, I would never disfigure one of my players. Their characters, on the other hand, are completely fair game.

That DM with the models is a more patient person then I -I would have throw hands or told him to gtfo. especially, if i make it clear that I'm lending MY models to the players from the start ~out of the sheer good will of my cold dead heart you better be kind to them or go back to using the good ol' fashion method: imagination!

First story? I would have left if I was a player. As a DM, THIS NEVER WOULD HAVE HAPPENED. The DM's choices were so damn wrong, it was laughable.

I like many of you find this detestable…another thing i hate is when DMs want to punish players and make the squirm and make them feel unsafe irl, OR go on power trips…like, just because you’re the DM doesn’t give you the right to do whatever you want.

Really miss this being a holsom channel. So many are just doing horror stories now. 😵‍💫 Miss the funny ones.

The DM that goes after a player for being excited can go eat a half baked chicken nugget. What a jerk. It makes me wonder if there's more to the story, because it's hard to imagine the whole group going along with this for such an "edgy 12 year old trying to be da big man" kind of reason.

Really doubt the truth of the second story, but if it is true OP needs to leave that group, reconsider their friend group, and maybe have a talk with their wife

I have a hard time believing story 2 was real, because who the hell stays in a group where your character is everyone's punching bag, gets raped, get the DM to confirm he has it out for you, and then stick around to try and get even. I know some people have low confidence or social skills, but I've never heard of anyone sticking around after their character has been raped.

Jesus Christ people. Just leave the games.
