When we used to go to lunch, we would stare into each others eyes for what seemed like almost an hour at a time while ignoring anything else in the restaurant. I knew him as a kid in grade school. He was older than me and I somehow have a very vivid memory of when I saw him give a girl flowers and a card, so romantic at such a young age. We've reconnected again and he's been through a lot in the years and so have I. We have been seeing each other for only a couple of weeks and somehow the connection feels months into maturation.
