From Devil MayCry, I made Nero's sword "Red Queen".
LED tape is built in so that red light leaks from the gaps in the cardboard.

Whenever I build one, it usually takes about a week, if I'm putting a half hour or full hour in every night. You could probably build this in a weekend if you're really committed.
