That’s some serious low tech! One lens in one group. Love the plastic click-clack winder sound. The new film images had way more contrast than I expected.

Really nice shots. It always blows my mind how many abandoned buildings, there are in some rural areas of America. I guess it's because living in a Danish city, I'm used to seeing abandoned structures getting replaced with something else quite fast, while municipalities in rural Denmark make an effort to ensure, that abandoned buildings are demolished - and the site cleaned up. In the past decade, we have even had a national budget for demolishing abandoned buildings.

I forgot the state bird of Ohio was the Red Cardinal until I saw your State Fair photo. The Vivitar UWS is so delicate it makes me nervous to use it although I like the results. Still, I prefer a 28mm to 21mm lens.

22mm in 35mm Film is ultra wide viewing angle isn't suitable for all subjects. It is a challenge finding good motives for this camera. But with f11 everything becomes sharp by the way.

Love your photos. Thanks for sharing this, with your tips! I love this camera. I got mine a couple of years ago on eBay for $27 (which was still crazy) after getting outbid on one that went up to $56. I think it’s cool that it’s being reproduced again, and weirdly, the new ones are cheaper than the old ones.

@@theoldcameraguy I kinda want one at that price, so I hope some people snap it up. On a separate topic, it was fun to see some of your camera collection behind you. Wondering if there’s a camera or cameras in your collection that you haven’t shot, that you would like to? Have you ever counted up the cameras in your collection? I so enjoy watching those camera collection videos; I find them oddly soothing. I’m guessing yours would be a long one! Anyway, I do enjoy your videos, your channel, and you. I am thankful for your creativity and friendly face, helping guide people into the world of film photography, and sharing your knowledge. And thanks to you, if it’s not out, I’m ordering some lomography turquoise film for myself for an Xmas present for myself. Anyway, just thank you.

@@KarySchump Thanks for all your support Kary! I counted my cameras when I was a guest on the Negative Positives podcast a few years ago. The count was around 150. I definitely haven't shot with all of them (yet). A lot of them are cheap point and shoots I've found at thrift stores. I've got a Nikon LiteTouch Zoom 110s in the box that I need to shoot with, and I still need to put a roll through my Lubitel 166. I hope you get ahold of some Lomochrome Turquoise for Christmas. I'm shooting a medium format roll of Turquoise in my Pentax 67 tomorrow.

I bought one for a long weekend trip we did go Budapest. I shot 400 bw and really looking forward to the results. I don’t think I shot too many with the sun in the frame so will try that next time I use it. It’s so small and light you can even put it in a shirt pocket. So no excuse to have as a second, or third camera.

I'm a fan of the RUWS! I've only shot ASA-100 or ASA-125 film in the camera so far, it seems to work well on partly sunny days, but anything overcast, you want something faster for sure! Excellent results and tips as always.

I am looking for someone who could convert a UW&S over for handheld pinhole photography. I’m thinking that I would like the shutter to open on pressing it down and closing when it is released. Of coarse I would like the pinhole also.

Neat little camera. I picked up my first p&s the other day at a local thrift store, Ricoh FF7. Looking forward to getting a roll of film through it. Several of these pictures have railroad in them and that's right in my wheel house so I have to ask where you were if you don't mind. That first one of the brick building looks familiar from my travels around SW Ohio, just can't pull it out of the old storage right now. Got another Nikon N70 at the flea market this past weekend for $40. Seems to just have needed some fresh batteries correctly installed. I've just about finished the roll of film I put in to test so I'll know shortly.

The brick building and the railroad tracks are both in Pataskala Ohio. The abandoned gas station was in Bridgeport and most of the rest were in Westerville. Have fun with that Nikon.
