Bivol's footwork is phenomenal, watching him beat Zurdo was even better than Canelo in my opinion as that's where he really showcased his footwork because Zurdo was a lot more dangerous in terms of reach and power

His whole style is traditional Soviet to the bone, he really sticks to the books except he executes everything at a higher level. Really such a beautiful boxer.

I feel like so many casual boxing fans don't realize how complicated his left hook is. The looseness and the last second turning over into a hook is deadly! I first spotted it in a mitt video and I kept saying to myself "jesus fuck that hook is so nonchalant but carries so much power". The only thing I wonder is how well he can do it moving backwards. He does a great job of bouncing in and out of range which will be when he catches Canelo walking in but can his do it consistently walking backwards. I think if we see the same Canelo as the Kovalev fight, Canelo loses. He's gonna have to bring a mix of Daniel Jacobs and Callum Smith fights to win this one. I'm so excited for this fight

@@koplak9809 I agree only when he commits does he sometimes leave himself open. Normally though he has a very good judge of distance. He stays outside and only enters on his own watch. He then prefers footwork to escape danger. I can see him pulling some Lara-esque problems for Canelo in there. Canelo likes to be planted when he throws. He only sprints in quick explosions of footwork on ocassion and Bivol footwork could keep Canelo out of range all night. If Canelo doesn't time him - I honestly see Canelo losing a decision over a long tough fight. He may catch Bivol on the inside if Bivol stays sloppy or coming in - but that is no guarantee!

Just to point out, bivol guard is open at times. But his in out movement is his defense. But the way canelo fights with feet stuck in the mud I just don't know. Bivol never sits on the ropes. He almost always circles out back to the center of the ring
