Canelo to me almost broke mentally because he saw that he couldn’t “get” Bivol and it frustrated him, all the while he’s catching 2-3 hits to the face. It was crazy to see because we are all used to seeing Canelo be a beast in the ring. But it’s honestly a nice thing to see because I want Canelo to recognize that he’s only human and not invincible.

When you have hundreds of millions on your account and drive posh sports cars, you are no longer as motivated as you once was. What's more, Bivol is just a better boxer. His footwork is much better, his jab is better, his defense is better, his timing is better. He gave too much respect to Canelo when the Redhead was hanging against the ropes. Beterbiev would go for the kill.

Teddy was 1000% correct in his analysis on this one. Personally I was convinced within the first 30 secs that Bivol was going to take it and that was based of the energy he had in the run up to the fight, he had the right type of focus and it was like a professional business deal, no gimmicks and I didn't see his phased at any point in time even up u til the ring entrance, I'm glad they offered him some type of love and respect at the end. Further more from Canelos side, when I heard the Usyk talk I was like OK get him outta here, his had it his own way for far to long and now his feeling like they need him for the next Marvel movie.

Bivol could put Canelo into decline if they have a rematch. I think Dmitry will throw more next time and be more confident which points to Canelo taking far more punishment. Canelo is a future HOF no doubt, and has done some magnificent things in boxing. But I said for months that light heavyweight was a step too far for Canelo. The three champions of the division are not guys he can walk down and body shot into a title win. They're significantly bigger naturally, and with Bivol, clearly not intimidated by the aura around Canelo. This is what happens when you get draws against guys like GGG who you clearly lost to, and then spend the next several years bullying rather weak opposition. You run into a brick wall like Bivol.

Not being a dick, but you have no idea what you're talking about. Bivol was clearly not affected whatsoever, that is precisely why he schooled Canelo 10 rounds to 2 (or 9 to 3). Conservative? He threw more punches than Canelo every round. You think he was conservative because he didn't throw a power punch every time like Canelo and get gassed? He wasn't conservative, he was extremely efficient with his punch selection, and that's why he also out landed Canelo every round...

I found it suspect how all judges had the same scores, but I think the reason it changed after the 5th round is because that was the round Bivol landed his big flurry on Canelo and had him against the ropes. There was no way they could say that wasn’t a Bivol round. I think the crowd could have influenced the judges too. They were cheering like crazy every time Canelo threw a punch let alone landed one. That’s why the judges for the Whyte - Fury fight were wearing noise canceling headphones. I noticed a change the crowd after the 5th round too when it became too obvious Bivol was winning. I think the judges could have gone into the fight expecting Canelo to win and scored accordingly.

What Teddy stated about footwork I saw immediately in Bivol. I observed in the 1st and 2nd round that Bivol was planting his feet at certain distances, so it was clear he was aware of where he needed to be. Bivol is a smaller fighter in his weight class, so he has always tended to stay away from big power punchers in regard to the strategy. Canelo has one of the highest boxing IQ's and knew what to do (what Teddy stated) but he just didn't do it and believed he would catch Bivol with a good punch at some point. Sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't.

Canelo was discouraged. The 300 amateur fights Bivol had helped, he's a well oiled machine. There's going to be a skill/athleticism gap between the two that no amount of magic (tacos) is going to help. Bivol will forever be a puzzle Canelo's not going to much like. No I’m not saying he fought “tomato cans” He clearly fought many champions but some not all got in the ring beaten already and he had this aura building. Many fighters dismissed Bivol, even some that had never even seen him fight. Bernard Hopkins made a ludicrous prediction/stupid. Bottomline, he was beaten by a superior boxer who was not afraid of his power. Bivol did not even load up in the fight while Canelo threw the heavier punches so weight was not a factor. Canelo landed maybe 10 clean shots all night. Hardly a mark on Bivol compared to Canelo. Classic puncher vs boxer! I’d like to see him forget 175 pounders or cruiser weights and go back to 168 and take on all comers.
