This week I had time to test Turtle Wax Ice Spray Wax in new design "Original" bottle by running an array of car wax tests to determine the quality of Turtle Ice Spray Wax. We use a gloss meter and test the durability of the wax! I also compare it to the wax we tested last week, Car Guy's Premium Hybrid Wax to see how they stack up. The two products are very similar in application, but with very distinct results!

I have used this product for years. Easy to apply and won’t ruin plastic parts. Last about 4 to 6 months on my vehicles. Outstanding product in my honest opinion.

Its not necessarily a bad product, but there are so many stronger sprays out there in that price range. Turtle Wax has others, such as the Seal N Shine which blow this one away.

I love it been using it for 2 years. On my black 2015 impala and 2018 Lincoln MKZ, car looks brand new, super shiny gloss. Sometimes leaves streaks of you use too much

Honest feedback. It feels like you really want this product to fail. You constantly refer that there is better products at each test phase. We know there's always going to be better products out there. Just tell us if it works or not, and if its a good value. If you want to trash the product, that's fine, but do it at the end so it at least you sound fair during the testing.

Dude keep making videos. I know it's very time consuming and you are putting a lot of effort into it. Keep it up dude, you are gaining momentum. What I would like to see is "How do you maintain ceramic coating" and "Can you apply sealant on a ceramic coating".

Im not a Turtle Wax promoter but this is a spray wax. I think Turtle Wax mentions SmartShield Technology regarding building layers of protection. I just wonder if the Spray Wax does better if used in combination with either the Ice paste or liquid wax. I personally have never used their spray wax, but I have used their Ice paste wax and it has been the longest lasting wax Ive ever used on my truck. I use it in the spring, once in the summer, once again in the fall and it will bead almost all the way to spring. Just my opinion. Thank you for the great review, appreciate it.

This is a great channel and you're honesty is admirable. I have seen no indication that any of your reviews are "padded". As far as Seal n Shine goes, I have had the same result as you. That's disappointing since there's so many video reviews out there that contradict my results. I didn't even have to try to break it down it just broke. My panels were clean stripped and prepped.

like your vids...i use the TW ICE SPRAY WAX primarily on vinyl stripes and details. recommended by several manufacturers as vinyl safe, hi gloss, no edge build up and somewhat protective. application is so easy, use after 2-3 washes as standard. tried a few other spray waxes but this really pops and is user / vinyl friendly. thanks dw

Hi, just came across you channel and love it. I'm from West Texas, it is 90-105 F all the summer, UV is through the roof and we have fine abrasive dust all over here, it is practically a desert almost no rain. I'm doing extensive research on what product to buy specifically for durability I know synthetic is my best bet but there are so many options. I want a good base product then I will top it of with something else. I don't know what part of Texas you are from, but anything advice for a product in my climate conditions, something in the $0-$40 price range as a base product that can come from the top of your head. Thanks!

Im in Houston and it has been brutal lately. We had some 100% humidity at 98 degrees days. I do remember the abrasive dust when traveling through your part of the state. If you are looking for an easy product that you can reapply a few times a year or less I’d suggest the Wolfgang Deep Gloss 3 or the Soft99 Fusso Coat (original formula). Those are both in your range and synthetic. The wolfgang is prettier but the fusso lasts longer. Both are great choices in my opinion:)

Cool and thanks for sharing. I love my Turtle products. I no longer spend ours detailing my car. Can we say 65 years young. LOL Easy on, easy off. I really don't care about how long it last because every time I wash my car I spray something on it. For me it's more about short term bling than long term durability. But your video did show that I'm not wasting my money for that short term bling. Plus I'm a cheap old dude. LOL

Thanks for watching! A lot of people really like that easy spray on and off and they use products like this one as a drying aid/detail spray when finishing a wash. Nothing wrong with using it this way :).

Turtle wax is awesome. It gets no love from the majority of KZfaq detailers. Hahaha. The rest of us that don’t get free products know better. It’s inexpensive and works great! And like you, I apply the spray after each wash cause I love making my Miata look awesome.

Robert, I'm also not a huge fan of Beadmaker. Try the Extreme Solutions Topper. It's silica based, very slick, looks pretty. I think you might like it a lot more than Beadmaker.

Wish I was good at mechanic work aswell. I've tried so many times to give it a go. But paint jobs and detailing are my strong paints. Mechanical work is wayyyy to hard. My respect to mechanics..

I love that stuff, it is my go to for car waxing...I've never had any disappointments with it and seems to outdo all the other expensive brands and products such as chemical guy's blazin banana wax which I felt didn't perform to specs compared to this ice spray wax which always leaves me a nice shine that lasts for months and greatly repels water

If it works for you, then that is all that ultimately matters. This is actually part of my intent with my testing to as objectively as possible show the various qualities and let you decide what is important to you. Cost isn’t everything and I’ve tried expensive products I’ve hated. You may give Turtle Wax Seal N Shine a shot, i think its an even better version of what you’re using and its cheap. Ethos Resist Graphene spray is super affordable too and quite excellent.

After seeing this review is it safe to say it's not worth applying over the Ice Seal N Shine? I picked up some Seal N Shine about 3 weeks ago and so far I'm 100% satisfied with it as far as gloss, water beading, cleaning off bird droppings etc. At the same time I started using the Maguiars Gold Class car wash, my reasoning is I've heard it doesn't leave much residue or waxes behind leaving the surface cleaner to be able to recoat. Yesterday I washed and dried the car, wiped the car down again with 50/50 mix of IPA and applied another coat of the Seal N Shine. I think it looks great. Right now I'm researching this Ice Spray Wax, seeing if it would possibly add to the finish, but now I'm thinking it won't and I'm better off just re-applying Seal N Shine every month or so.

I would just run the Seal n Shine on its own. It's a great product. I tried stacking Ethos DEFY on top (just posted the video) and they worked great together. I'd avoid the ICE spray wax. The Gold Class car wash is a good one, I used it for years myself. Never had any complaints about it.

The Seal n Shine works best on a fresh surface. I would get the Spray Wax and use as a Topper the two go hand and hand.

The video showed the old version. The newer versions has a green turtle on the bottle and performs awesome. The new turtle wax has better protection. The seal and shine was improved and so was the ice spray wax. They improved the seal and shine why not improve the ice spray . Up date version; up date videos.

Ice spray wax is a water sheader. Turtle wax seal n shine is a beader. I prefer sheading over beads because less water Marks on the car. Check out jimbo detailing on this product.

You really couldn’t measure or feel any wax and it wasn’t shedding better than unwaxed.

Ivan, you can't go wrong with Turtle Wax Seal-n-Shine, Xtreme Solutions Poly -Seal, and The Last Coat 2.0. They're all great.

Dmitry, As you and your viewers may know, Turtle Wax Ice now has an Improved product. I have not used the new & improved product. I used this product as a topper or booster on synthetic based polishing and waxing. I have found the Ice Spray Wax is good to use with their Seal N Shine product, also has new & improved formula. I first applied seal n shine, then a layer of ice spray shine. It will be interesting to see how long the new & improved products will last?

@@DmitrysGarage I used the ( new improved) Seal N Shine then the Spray Wax as a Topper over the summer. I got a good 4 mos out of it ( car not garaged kept washed almost weekly) and it was still beading fairly decent. I just reapplied them a week apart and im sure it will get me through the winter.

Good question. I would say it should be fine, but as always with matte, decals, vinyl, etc... I recommend testing in an inconspicuous area if at all possible.

Randy, I would guess you sprayed too much on. Rubbing alcohol should clean it up.

You can find all the wax tests including UV results here: dmitrysgarage.com/wax I have not found any products that absorb or reflect UV light. It's possible they're helping by providing a barrier/sacrificial layer to water and other chemicals that may oxidize the paint beyond just UV light itself, but if you want strong UV protection consider PPF.

Thanks for watching! Appreciate the input. I'm comparing all kinds of popular products, some new some old. One of my last videos was a paste wax that can actually last multiple years, check out the Rustoleum video, that's a new product on the market. I did a CQuartz ceramic coating video (but not test) earlier with my new truck. I'll be getting into other ceramics as well in the future. While coatings are certainly popular not everyone wants to go through a cut and polish to apply them properly, so waxes are still a huge subset of the market. In fact I specifically had people asking for this video. Thanks again!

I recently bought this thinking “hey, new formula! Outstanding!” Sometimes hard water stains can be tricky. Well, this went right in the trash. Followed instructions in the garage and it left a hazy film on my black truck. I’ll stick with the turtle wax wax and dry and stay away from this garbage product!
