so sdr play has a higher bandwidth than a funcube dongle?

I know it's been 6 years but yes, lol. Rtl sdr has 2.4 mhz, while fundongle is around 192 khz

This works! But on a lot of channels, I get 'Muting encrypted voice' - what does this mean? How do i 'un-mute' it?

That’s the fun part, you don’t! But seriously, if it’s encrypted the chances of you being able to decode it are minimal. You would need to know the encryption key, which they most likely won’t share, and the decoder would need to support it. I think the simple algorithms are starting to get supported by a lot of the decoders but not all.

Great video! I was looking for an example of SDRPlay and DSDPlus and you video was perfect. Have you captured DMR traffic when text messaging is being sent? Phil de KA1GMN

Sorry in cmd when you are in Mono audio decoding initiated: press Esc to exit ... which key you press for continue?

If RAS is active on channel will it tell what it is?

your version of SDR# supports SDRplay. Newer versions do not. Where can i get version 1.0.0.1423 ?

Thanks for the video! I have it decoding for S1 or S2. But when both S1 and S2 are up I get decoding errors and the audio stops until one the channles drops. Have you seen this?

I have not left it running for extended periods trying to monitor both slots as I am usually only concerned with slot 2 around here. I'll try to test it out though and let you know. Might be worth asking around the radioreference forums as well.

Newbie Question:? When using sdrsharp and dsdplus to decode DMR why am I hearing the trunked signal as well as the decoded voice?

3 years later, but disable "listen to this device" in the sound control panel for the recording device.

Can I install dsd+ on an xp machine ? I have and SDR running on an xp machine but I can not figure out where to download dad and how to run it like you are doing The dsd+ plugin is not working in my version of rtl-sdr but I think it may be that I don't have all the files U do have the whole program Can you tell me how to get it I am clueless and having a lot of trouble Old age I guess. I used to pick up tech stuff, but the last year I was in the hospital and my brain has not recovered, seriously, not a joke, almost died Thanks Bill

Does the SDRplay work better with DSDplus compared to the SDR-RTL dongle?

I don't notice any kind of better decoding on it. The SDRplay's strength comes in to play more with Unitrunker (or anything that can make use of the large spectrum spread) since it has such a wide sample bandwidth compared to the cheap dongles. You can create many VCOs from just the one SDRplay to cover a large portion of the spectrum.

Can you tell me if SDRplay perfroms better than a SDR-RTL and if so in what way. I am on the fence about getting a SDRplay but need to know how much better it is and in what ways. thanks Ken

How do you mute and unmute the different time slots?

j69chevelle I don't believe there's a way to actually mute the time slots, however, you can selectively choose which one you are actively listening to buy hitting either the one or two keys respectively for the time slot 1 or 2. By hitting the three key you will go back to listening to both time slots at the same time.
