I can't help but notice the Smiling Snatcher seems to love the number 6. He hunts for the duration of both 6 hours, he first struck on a year ending in 6, stole his outfit on the sixth and took 6 children. Also this series is just amazing and I can't wait to see it continue

Heyo, I'm one of the people that worked on decrypting the letter from "In Loving Memory". Unfortunately, we don't have the transcript for the second letter since we didn't notice it until a day later, and haven't even fully finished the first since burnout hit like a freight train. It’s kinda sad to see that this series is so under appreciated. It’s sad too because pastra is such an awesome creator and you can tell him and his team put so much passion into the series and it just underperforms more than any of his other projects. I am glad someone is covering this series and I look forward to what pastra will be doing in the future with this series! Keep up the great work dmuted!

The number 6 is actually very relevant to the Veldigun. There's six Veldigun in total, with them hunting in pairs of two, those who survive attacks of the Veldigun say that they saw six eyes staring at them, and the Veldigun's creator is literally named Six.

8:32 I think that face might be the face of Kruger that's censored later when he's all emaciated and stuff, like showing what's gonna happen to him in a way that you'd only understand if you were watching it back, caught the image as it faded, and were able to put two and two together. Seeing Clyde drawn in such a horrifying manner will def take some getting used to, since we’ve been seeing him be used for Pastra’s channel for so long, but wow Is it a terrifying design when used in horror

I think the mom is also missing her eyes, kind of an antithesis to the phrase "you have your mother's eyes" or "you have your father's smile", since the child lacks the same features as the parents.

I really like how the static photos of characters in this series seem to be made using AI. not only does it make things much easier than trying to use photos of real people as stand-ins, but it also adds just that little bit of the uncanny valley

i think that the detail of the whole series having an orange tint to it really sets it apart from other series like it. it really makes it all feel uniform and part of the same world

I haven't seen anyone else mention this, but during the Halloween PSA, you can faintly see a pair of smiling eyes in the orange throughout the whole thing.

I still can't get over how I had a nightmare with similar creatures. Except I never saw what they were. A friend in the dream did. And because we were in the same building... It began to target all of us. Only difference is when they mimicked voices, it was like hearing someone say something to you, but you weren't listening. It sounded English, but was more like simlish. And the tension and fear I felt, watching my cat in that dream stare at the door of the house, as what sounded like MY voice called out to it, speaking not even a word, was horrifying. Trying to get Siri, which somehow had access to locking and unlocking doors, to unlock the door... Listening to it be able to activate Siri, and getting so close to telling it to open the door. Listening to it get better with each try... It was learning how to talk, and it was horrifying.

As impressive as all of this is I think clyde being the mascot FOR pastra's channel greatly diminishes the scare-factor for people familiar with his channel, too used to his presence he becomes not scary

4:24 honestly, taking us the viewer out is a good idea in my mind, even if it feels a little forced. Because WE the viewers dont have to worry about going insane by watching the scary content. We just watch it. Means that Pastra and his team can focus more energy on the actual story instead of on external things.

Thank you so much for making this. I like hearing rundowns or reactions to horror related stuff before watching it myself(big scaredy cat that way), and it’d looked so cool from everything I had seen in teasers etc and I was a huge fan of Pastra’s writing during the Lankmann ARG so I knew this would be good. I can now proceed to watch the series and still manage to get completely scared.

Pastra has previously discussed the lore of the Veldigun before the series was announced. They absorb the consciousness, traits, personality, and name of their victims. This is the reason Klaus has the name of Kenneth’s son. Lankmann is a human, and his appearance in the ARG is how people under the effects of the Veldigun’s illusions see him. I don't know if pastra had read this piece but there is a book named "end of the childhood" which tells the story of mankind making contact with an alien species that came to earth to aid them on their daily lives. And uhm, spoiler alert: the alien species mankind made contact with actually looks like the interpretation of the devil. However they are not evil, they are just feared by the humans because in the past they showed themselves to mankind and later showed them the greatest fear of a species can have. Which caused humans to have an unconscious fear of the devil in religion. Oh also in the book, god is non existence and the religion is made up? It's a bit complicated and doesn't really explain much but that is what it implies. I hope this comment helps people to see this series in a new lens!

The actual definition of underrated unlike many other things. DOAI is legitimately underatted, none of the episodes even cross 240k views at this time while other less quality analog horror videos get millions of views, the newest entry took 1.5 years to make and it didn’t pay off in terms of people seeing it as unfortunate it is, it kinda makes me angry tbh

It’s so strange how The Smiling Snatcher and Clyde can have the same design and yet I’ll be terrified of The Smiling Snatcher watching DOAI and then be laughing alongside Clyde in the very next upload.

DOAI is absolutely underrated, and seeing it finally get the recognition it deserves is just satisfying.

This is really well made and I'm excited to see where it goes, while I don't find pastra's character that scary, the quality and world building is really good, as well as the dialogue

honestly I really appreciate how it takes you out of the experience for a moment, when I found my first ARG (Welcome Home) it stressed me out when everything I looked up about it (Wikipedia pages, official page, etc) implied that it was real. I kind of knew in the back of my mind that it probably wasn’t, but the fact that it was so difficult to find confirmation really bothered me.

This is probably a bit off topic, but I just love how far FNaF as come for it's music to be used in analyzing not just a analog horror creator, but a FNaF content creator as well.

quick side note, Lankmann IS NOT a Veldigun, he only appears the way he does because of a sort of subliminal messaging that Winfrey created that follows him around that makes people hallucinate that this is what he looks and sounds like. There can only be 6 existing Veldiguns at any given point in time, and those 6 are: Clyde, Winfrey, The Flock, Simon, Jack, and Klaus

After some unfortunate events involving Clyde and his Veldigun partner, Winfrey. Im not gonna go into it further because spoilers, duh. But It looks like this story will be included in the Series.

This kind of makes me think of “The Black Phone” for some reason. But I love analog horrors. I’ve already listened to the popular ones so finding ones like this is a treat.
