have y’all ever applied for one ? she gave very real issues that many disabled folks report for not havin one. i’m disabled, use the placard, and i cannot fathom why y’all are so vicious to these people when u clearly do not care abt the real challenges us disabled folkd face- y’all just love callin the pigs

@@joseochoa7043 riiiiight cause infamously those are quick trips. shes got like, 3 kids dog, she probably has to work, take care of em, take em to the doctors- took me such a long time to get mine cause of all the stuff i had to sort out before even beginning the process.

@@joseochoa7043 yeah and u represent every disabled person out there. she had all those kids and got that big ass fine, for what ? walmart has tons of disability parking, and ik my parents parked at disability spots when i was losing my vision but didn’t have the placard yet. it’s not that simple and i don’t take any joy in pigs handing out tickets when they disproportionately affect disabled people more violently

While I bet there’s a few bad apples out there. Nowadays most doctors won’t just hand them out. Here in NM, my placard has my DL photo on the back. I know a few others state also adopted this idea. I think it would help the abuse

I've had people cuss me out when I've said something about them being in a handicap spot without a place card especially one designed to unload a wheelchair and that is with my handicap plates card showing and my manual wheelchair in the front seat of my car visible through the window and they've just taken the last spot for someone who needs it to unload a manual wheelchair.

They have an app to report it called Parking Mobilty

The 1000$ fine is misusing a placard. The 250 is parking there with no placard.

This is a little off the subject, but I was at the mall with my father, mother and wife. My wife and mother wanted to get something in the mall so we dropped them off at the front and went to the back to wait for their call to pick them up. While we waited we watched two teen age girls circling the parking lot in there car. Looking for a spot on a very busy day. Finally with no choice they parked by us, way in the back. They both got out and slowly headed toward the mall. As they got close, a car pulled out from one of the stalls up front. Both girls got super excited, one girl stayed and guarded the spot while the other ran all the way back to get her car and move it to the front spot. After parking their car they had a spring now in their step as they headed toward the mall. My wife and mother took what seemed to be an eternity. After an hour the two girls came back, each had a small bag and still a spring in the step as they happily got in there car that was parked up front now and left.

Everyone breaks the law now and then but that doesn't mean these low class people who illegally park in handicapped spots shouldn't get tickets. Sounds like someone hates cops.

@Bryon Stephens Cops pull people over all day on a strip in front of a casino, on my delivery route, and use the excuse that your tailLIGHT is out. They do this all day everyday. This is used to "fish" for other violations. Maybe use your time better then critize people and insult them.

Should charge them for that as well. Both the driver and disabled person.

Sorry but will never work. How about you give me your non surgically put together spinal cord and lack of mobility? Do you think it's about " great parking or convenience?? We have no choice! This Handicapped ♿ placard is not some arbitrary privilege but a necessity for some of us. Walk or roll in my shoes. You're going to be glad you are not disabled!

@Sarah E You couldn't be more wrong, the handicap spaces should be sold Luke a season pass,this way everyone would be able 2 get preferred parking, just like SeaWorld, Walt Disney.

@Sarah E Everybody needs these spaces, that's why everyone parks there,so to make it fare,then these spaces should be free to everyone this way no one needs to pay anything and everyone Is happy. But to get these spaces it should be first come first serve. This way everyone wins.

If you parked there without a license then police a called for driving without a license and to ID you so they know who to fine.

@E Boston I have a bad back and I can't even walk sometimes. And I will never park in a handy caped spot. There are people that need that spot more than I do. I know people who parked there because Thay stubbed their toe and can walk that extra 10 feet. I have even sat in a Parken lot and just watched people park there and get out and run across the street like there was nothing wrong with them. I asked them why you parked there? I see you run across the parking lot. She said her arm was sore from playing at the beach with her kids.

@Dee Cee That's incorrect. Most disabilities are invisible. And having a placard and papers, even out for everyone to see, doesn't stop the harrassment.

Dee Cee Not sure how any of that negates what I said. The likely reasons you only seem to know people whose disabilities are visible are 1) generally nobody has to tell anyone about their visible disability as it's obvious to most sighted people and 2) generally you _don't_ know about someone's invisible disability unless they tell you. In other words, you almost certainly know multiple people with invisible disabilties and just don't realize it. I am sorry to hear about that tag scam near you. I know this type of fraud does happen, and it's shameful. It just concerns me that publicizing the issue in irresponsible ways is leading to further harrassment of genuinely disabled people.

Jean Taylor - that's a great question JT been searching that answer myself but I will say this, we must get that info for states on our radar for visitation or pay a hefty price later on
