The realest, for real. This pandemic. The political and civil unrest. Hard times for us all. I grew up in a predominantly white area in the Adirondacks, and I'm a white boy. I've lost a lot of my singer/songwriter heroes in the past year, and appreciate a vast array of music. But I grew up with lots of black people in a very racist community, and I thank my mother for instilling in me that people are people, no matter what. I'm writing from my son's account (Sherone) but I just wanted to give thanks To our higher power for allowing us to have an opportunity to have a lifetime of moments from this precious man. He had the most purest heart regardless of the life he was dealt. When he loved he loved hard and genuinely. He truly gave away a lot of what he earned to those he felt deserved it more than him. He always felt as if he wasn't worthy of his gift or his words. I truly enjoy the most private moments he gave us when doing his prayers. It was a private heartfelt moment between him and God and he took us along that journey with him. I'm truly thankful for being able to experience what we know as DMX. He was so genuine, kind, intelligent, uplifting and there will never be another "X"
