I appreciate the fact that these are not just gap-fillers and beef-up parts, but are integrating the original parts to create some different transformation and articulation particularly with the arms.

And if you don’t have the upgrade, you can have Volcanicus stand on Snarl and Grimlock’s robot mode legs unfolded out. It gives him some extra height but loses some sturdiness.

Once I put the upgrade parts on, the left arm became unable to hold its own weight. The issue is that the pinned joint on the connection point is too loose. Is there any way to tighten that?

It looks cool, but my issue is that it feel less like a true combiner when you need external components like feet and hands that serve no function in the individual modes. At least with Menasor, the skeleton turned into Motormaster’s trailer. This one just sits there in both modes

I sold my completed Volcanicus because I was so disappointed with the combined mode. This kit definitely improves on some of the major issues, but I don't think anything can truly overcome the generally awful-looking legs that the figure has. It just goes to show, though - if they are planning on a Dinoking repaint box-set, they should be putting something akin to this kit in there with it to make it worthwhile for folk.
