I'm working on a project that uses some of these concepts; this video was super helpful for understanding metabarcoding in a simpler way!

Hi! I am interested in DNA metabarcoding datasets for insects, sequenced through an Miseq Illumina in search of the biodiversity monitoring of insects for my bachelor thesis. I will be testing different type of Bioinformatic-tools. But for the moment i can't find Insect-datasets to start with, could you suggest me a free databank? Thanks, great video!

I would try searching through the sequence read archive (SRA) for data www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sra I would look for any type of data first (not just Miseq) to see what type of data they have available. The SRA is the biggest data set wise, but searching through it is difficult/a bit archaic. Alternatively, you could look for published papers which have data you want, and then see where they uploaded their raw data/use the SRA ids from there. Good luck
