I just love CNA Insider. The topics are always sooooooo interesting. I am in the USA and the same topics/subjects are not presented in the way CNA Insider does it. It is informative and the presentations are always entertaining and hold my attention. I just love the programming. Thank you.

Our family got one, and the test concluded that we were all 20% Japanese. Problem with that is that it meant that something probably bad happened to a female family member during the Japanese occupation of Korea, resulting in our lineage. This caused a lot of angst in my sisters, wondering who’s side of the family was responsible for our impure (probably rape) of a grandmother or great grandmother. Turned out later that all Koreans who took this crap test got 20% Japanese lineage. Moral of the story is they know little about dna and how to interpret this initial data being given.

20:05 Shows one of her passwords that are hashed has been leaked before, that does not confirm that attackers have manage to break the hashed password to obtain the plaintext variant of her password. While it is good to educate the public on the risks of leaked PII and passwords, most leaks are hashed variants with salt and if the hashes are strong enough it is not 100% certain that the plaintext password has been leaked. This is honestly bad explanation coming from a cybersecurity professional

I did 2 test too. Circle and Sequencing. Both have come contradictory results too. The reason why I did 2 is because Circle does not provide raw data, so I can't drill down such as MTHFR details nor do I have the raw data for 2nd opinion. But Circle comes with a nice app and consultation.

I would rather spend the $2k to get a clinical all rounder check up on health conditions which has the best accuracy compare to swabs of saliver which seems gimmick. Other than the perks of finding out your ancestors, the health risk park seems not reliable to me.

Circle DNA provides a scale of confidence in each finding. On a scale of 5, most would hover at 3 but occasionally there will be 4 and 5s.

Before it was pretty accurate when it comes to distinguishing between Viet and Chinese (exactly 12.5 if you have one Viet/Chinese grandparent) but in the latest algorithm most Southern Chinese show Dai and Viet so it's impossible to tell if it's just noise or an ancient Viet/Dai ancestor. They're trying to copy Chinese technology and letting down their American and international customer base. Too bad you can't sue them and get your DNA back and for lying to you, basically.

Me and my boyfriend recently took My Heritage DNA Test Kit. Although, both of us are from different parts of Mexico. The DNA results came with detailed percentages, ethnicities, part of the exact country, and little history background of that specific group that shows in our DNA. DNA test are not suppose to be 100% accurate is more like an estimation. The company that I got, I personally liked it. It took about a month to get results. And some things were pretty accurate in my opinion. On my side of the family we were always curious why newborns looked like Asian babies. Turns out, I do have 4% Japanese in my DNA. Even till this day, some people think I’m Vietnamese or from the Philippines and I have to tell them not even close I’m Mexican as hell. Lol 😂

Personally I´ll opt to wait until there is a service that properly sequences my entire genome and I have all the rights to those data, not through a server but on a physical drive. This way the genome can be useful to me and my doctor, and not so easy for hackers to get to. Heritage seems mostly relevant in North America, where there is much genetic variance. And even there it´s unreliable and simplistic. For entertainment purposes only. Again, having one´s own DNA on a drive would make it possible to analyse it whenever new genetic studies come out.

I have never had any desire to get the DNA test. Unless I need a kidney replacement... who cares what it shows? My mom did our genealogy back in the early 1970s, she got it back into the 1700s. I saved it all when the family fell apart, but never paid it much attention (but did computerize all of in the 90s). It will not change who I am. Did some of my ancestors do something bad - or good - perhaps, but that has no bearing on my life today. 😎
