Got and had both use the 90s as beaters for chav shitholes same as my af1s as everybody knows them and rates them especially when boxfresh, the 1s i guess are a bit rarer and get worn in slightly more relaxed areas. Crisp new white 95s with orange tick same thing applies as the first two. For commercial town centres only. Need to keep them looking good or they become tramp shoes.

Out of those two exact shoes I will always prefer the AM1 because I’ve never liked the infrared AM90. I prefer the look of an AM1 but imo the 90’s are a more comfortable shoe if you’re going to be wearing them all day

infrared are more comfy imo but both those two are real fire in OG colour ways!! These two started it all!!!! And that’s what ur buying into when u get a pair in these colour ways, and am1 and 90s are probably the most comfy out of all air max standard!!!!🙏🏼

The AM1 has a sleek design but the sizing doesn't fit my wide feet, usually I'll increase the size by half to one, while the AM90 has a bulky design but very stylish, fun with the color and perfect sizing, compared to modern sneakers for classic shoes AM90 is quite comfortable to wear all day

The Air Max 90 is actually the 3rd version, not the 2nd. When they originally came out, they were called the Air Max 3's. I'm old enough to remember!

I simply adore Air Max 1, is a corner stone in sneaker culture and underground and pop culture at the same time, I have a very small collection, not even 10 pairs, but it includes a least the watermelons, the currys, the desert sand and grey mints :D

AirMax 2 came out in 94 . It really should be called AirMax 3. They use to brand AirMax 1 as AirMax 87.

Actually HG is right about that, there was a model between the AM1 and the AM90, which was called air max light or air max II. The II indicates the order of release, so the AM90 was air max III so to speak. Back in the days they just called air max btw. ISweatglitter has a good point too, but he is reffering to airmax2 which was a renewed air max system and came out around 94 in deed but it has nothing to do with the order of releases of the shoes itself

So I've always been curious why are air max ones always way better quality than most all Nikes as well as they seem to always be more limited than any other Air Max model and the resale is always crazy high compared to other Air Max models. Do they do that because it's such a classic OG silhouette that they only put top quality on it and don't make them massive gr?(usually) I mean the quality on the last pair from last week the denim premiums was some Top Notch quality

The 90 is really the third. Nike Air Max Light dropped in 89. Thats really the updated version of the AM1

Air max 1 is better for sure. It’s a cleaner better quality shoe, for example the Nike air stitching on the back less plastic. Air max 90 has too much going on, way too many plastic flaps and stuff. Imo it’s AM1, AM97, AM95, AM90 in that order…
