Would Humans Born On Mars Grow Taller Than Earthlings?:

This Is How Elon Musk Wants Government to Work on Mars"

"First Elon Musk wanted to nuke Mars, and now he thinks he knows how democracy there should work. Even though we're not really that close to colonizing the Red Planet, the SpaceX founder has some rather utopian ideas for how a government should work on Mars."
SHOULD MARS BE INDEPENDENT, OR JUST A COLONY OF EARTH?:
www.popsci.com/...
"It's a popular sci-fi plot: Earth sets up colonies on Mars; Mars colonies grow, developing their own technologies and culture; Mars colonies rebel against overbearing Earth government, demanding independence."
How Many People Does It Take to Colonize Another Star System?:

"Back in 2002, John Moore, an anthropologist at the University of Florida, calculated that a starship could leave Earth with 150 passengers on a 2000-year pilgrimage to another solar system, and upon arrival, the descendants of the original crew could colonize a new world there-as long as everyone was careful not to inbreed along the way."
Mars One Astronauts:
www.mars-one.co...
"For anyone not interested to go to Mars, moving permanently to Mars would be the worst kind of punishment. Most people would give an arm and a leg to be allowed to stay on Earth so it is often difficult for them to understand why anyone would want to go."

It should be rich people, because they actually contribute things to our society, like by making these big companies, like Apple, Microsoft with all of this interesting tech. Somebody that isn't going to provide any use shouldn't go simple as that.

No. Intelligent, Brilliant, Moral and Social people would be much more advantageous. Genetic diversity would be the most important thing because by the time we get to leave and build colonies on mars we would probably figured out how to modify DNA to eradicate cancers and other diseases. Only time will tell.

What exactly would a 1 child policy give?
@FilmotronCity
@FilmotronCity 8 жыл бұрын
Salterino Kripperino well, are you stupid. It's not supposed to be like that, you are not enforcing a law here but a general rule that if you have a child then just stop there and raise that one child and not make another baby. If you have twins then just raise those twins, or if you have triplets then just those three, and you might know that twins and triplets are rare, mostly it's just 1 child born at a time. So the couple should raise that child to the best of their abilities and keep the birth rate low, and in the long run, the population of the earth will reduce and hence many things will be made easier. like feeding the people, and keeping environmental antagonists in check.

people who do not need to be governed are the ones who need to go. people without ridiculous religious beliefs. scientific people. people with a cosmic worldview. people who want to change this world but can't. sadly if we just send our government and every rich person, religious people, misty of modern society, we are just going to take our problems with us wherever we go. it would end up no different.

+Torba Laina all this technology isn't gonna run itself. we will run out of resources unless they start using more renewable sources but I doubt they will. no matter how technological advanced we get, it won't stop all the waste we produce. it wont stop us polluting and emptying the oceans of animals.
@baruk9706
@baruk9706 8 жыл бұрын
No matter how technology advanced we get it won't stop us? lol I don't even think you can fathom how advanced we can get then. In terms of energy production there are lots of clean and safe idea some a little too far out there for current day but who knows in a few decades, renewable resources are obviously catching on if entire countries are making the push for it. As for waste there are people working on destabilizing and vaporizing entire molecules, so I doubt physical trash is gonna be a problem if we can start breaking down anything molecularly.
@akg9498
@akg9498 8 жыл бұрын
+Tylin Williams okay fair point maybe we will change one day. but how do you expect us to be able to collect all of the rubbish that we ever distributed. and that doesnt fix the problem of us killing off sea creatures like we have an unlimited supply. also, say we do leave this world, well just take the new one for granted and then abuse the resouces there. then you get stuck into the mentality of 'i can fuck the world up cuz I can just move when things get bad'. and for the record I dont think well ever completely stop trashing the world. no matter what happens

If peaceful people work together, they too can evacuate off this prison planet. Unfortunately, many are too lazy to work together. They would rather sit around and complain instead. There's a global evacuation process going on right now. For many people, they are too distracted to even notice. The reason why they don't make it obvious is to filter out people who are not willing to live the ways of peace. No point in saving people who are going to re-create a violent self-destructive civilization all over again. Violent people are being left behind to self-destruct; it is in their nature. Ergo the phrase, "a society reaps what it sowed". Some may say, well we can change and make things better. Society can only change when "everyone" are willing to change. So long as there is a mixture of those who wants to live the way of peace and those who wants to live the way of violence and conflict; there will always be opposition and change cannot happen. The opposition in of itself will create violent conflict. That is why peaceful highly intelligent organizations who understand this point, are organizing the evacuation around the world. It is a form of separating this mixture into two group, a peaceful group and a violent group. Violent people will stay and keep their violent self-destructive society; while peaceful people will leave and build a new civilization of peace. A clue: "So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn." -- Matthew 13:27

I admit to reacting to the title and haven’t watched. My immediate reaction was to imagine a Hitch Hikers guide to the galaxy scenario where all the middle-managers, politicians, lobbyists, self proclaimed intellectuals and anyone who would even think of trying to obscure the sun, get blasted into space to who-cares-where. The rest of us could then carry on unhindered by their stupidity. It’s a nice dream.

Well, id probably put botanists, chemists and mechanical engineers on first. If we ever had to leave the planet, we would need the first colony to setup a biosphere and get stuff automated as much as possible. Once you have food, water, oxygen and building production automated (presumably with robotics), you can send everyone else, but these first three teams would be pretty essential i think. Would probably put farmers way down the list with pretty much everyone else. All this of course, assuming we had time to evacuate, because if we didn't, it wouldn't really matter who went first, we would be doomed either way :D

If I was in the SpaceX factory churning out their "Interplanetary Transport System" 100-person spacecraft, you bet your bippy I'd be expecting a seat on the last one to launch. Otherwise, I might "accidentally" make some mistakes....

Hey gonna suck your for a sec, I gotta say I love this channel. It's the best educational and informative channel I've found on the internet. You do your thorough research on the topic and when you have guests on you make sure to know who you're talking to and do research on them and who they are. And the best thing thats hard to find is you're very unbiased, even on topics like your weed and tobacco videos

"Who would get to go" was addressed in "Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy". In one scene, all the Marketing Executives and Phone Sanitizers were put on a rocket and sent to the new planet with the promise that the rest of the civilization would follow, which they never did. So, the best idea is not to put the ones on the ship that you want to save but the ones that you want to get rid of. After these worthless people are gone, then we can effect a plan to save the rest of us.

According to the choke point people at one point humans almost became extinct about 70,000 years ago when our number dropped to a thousand or two. If we recovered from that than we shouldn't need 40,000 people to maintain genetic diversity. Also, we don't need to ship thousands of living breathing people to our ultimate destination. How about a skeleton crew and thousands of frozen embryos? Once at the ultimate destination the embryos could be incubated.

That was 70,000 years ago. It may not be aparant on the outside but Allot of our DNA is very damaged. Genetic diverersity is vital in order to decrease the likleyhood that any recessive defects will arise over time. As nice as the whole ghost ship embryo idea is we dont have artificial woomb technology yet, you're going to need robots or ai to raise those baby hoomans and probably a bunch of other shit like onboard food ecosystem shit for the long term. Also what happends if the ship is damaged in flight and needs to be repaired or a glitch causes the ship not to start the baby making protocols. By time we have all these problems figured out we'd probably have have solved the problem of fitting a city into a ship or just putting humans into stasis.

1. try to create a discussion where how can we create better chances/technologies/human generation to save mother earth 2. in case we have to leave then implement yoga and meditation exercises as part of the exercise regime for astronauts traveling to different planets/galaxies (or even to places like ISS) to keep organs functioning properly. Through these exercises oxygen reach blood can be sent where we want within the body.

If you're really interested in this idea, especially in regard to Mars, you should read the Mars Trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson. A lot of the questions that have been asked during this segment are given a hypothetical answer in the series; it's very, very well informed, and fun to read (if a bit dense).

I have a couple of questions. I hope you answer. Did the big bang started with a super dense state or did it multiply. I heard it started from a super dense state and the universe is still expanding. In that case wouldn't it be easy to spot the center of the universe? The hottest and densest and most radio active place is the center? And if we find that we get to judge if how much more the universe will expand right? 2. Are blackholes the doors to some other universe (parrallel to ours) and quasars to be gate ways where stuff from multiverse is entering our universe?

a few things to consider. we are already being conditioned to accept this possibility: smaller and smaller "tiny home/apartment" living quarters are en vogue. there is a rise in veganism, aeroponics and 3D printed in vitro meat. science fiction has never been more popular. there is a general anxiety about the survival of our species should we decide to stay on this overcrowded rock. let's not forget games like EVE and NO MANs SKY to take our minds there first. i think the people to leave will be the ones who want to leave. the ones who see beyond petty politics and scarcity. As robots take the rest of our boring jobs, we will have no choice but to dream bigger. We should build starships. we should be doing this now.

Dude! Play Red Faction 1 and 3 (Guerilla)! People colonize Mars successfully, but after a time generations of Martians start to be oppressed by Terrans (The Earth Defense Force or EDF). The workers are regularily abused and one day they rise up and revolt against the EDF guards/soldiers and take full control. This causes an EDF fleet from Earth to attack the Martians who are still Human.. sort of? :/ But now hate Terrans (people from Earth); while still holding a place in their heart for Earth. Great Sci-Fi story telling and gaming.

Speciation would occur in line with the genetic diversity allotted. I imagine they would probably be more sickly but smarter, lol, at least until genetic diversity could develop. And, of course, they would be very susceptible to diseases from the Earth.

Or we should develop a very Powerful Communication system for Observation and contact with Intelligence life on other exosolar system or other galaxies ? If we avoid short term extinction, we would have millions of years to work on this. We create heavy duty living structures, heat them with fusion and grow food underground. Then we find a way to push Earth away from the Sun's gravity. Our momentum would slowly carry us into deep space, away from the dying Sun. We could take our time, sending out space arks looking for new worlds as we travel along inside the Earth.

It's pretty useless to theorize who SHOULD go. In the end the selection board will be leaned upon pretty hard and bribed heavily, so the crew will eventually consist of the children and grandchildren of the most influential and/or rich people. Or themselves. Well, if the human nature would change, the selection could be done more rationally, but somehow I don't see this happening anytime soon (like a million years).

I know we have talked about crashing an asteroid into Mars, but what about crashing a parts of a small rocky planet into Mars, Mars's gravity would get stronger, so that it could hold an atmosphere and maybe the crash could jumpstart the planets core. Well this is just a thought, I am no astrophysicist,
