I think it’s the difference of how it’s eaten. Yes we eat those things with our hands, but we generally aren’t sharing, especially with people we don’t know. I think he was talking more of the shock he experienced when everyone was digging into the same pile of food. Not so much about eating his own food with his own hands.

@@allanmsema6224 your not touching the whole pizza to remove a slice. It’s generally customary to not touch the portions of food that someone else will eat. Again, it’s nothing beyond cultural differences. In many cultures around the world it’s completely okay to eat with your hands and share foods. And that’s okay. As for most people in the US we generally prefer our food touched as little as possible.

Auston, please do more research before you speak. There are so many other countries in the world that eat with their hands. Did you know in India , the middle East, South America, some part of the Caribbean and some part of Asia they eat with their hands??? Ignorance is not bliss. Respect other cultures.

So hear me out... Real question here. I wanted to go to Kenya, but I found that they don't use toilet paper. They use their hands or those bedae toilet fountain things... So those are the same hands that prepare the foods at restaurants. This is research from KZfaq and other places... Can you confirm this? Is their soap like super strong! 😢 I'm ready for the answer😮 FYI: aim currently in America and don't do food trucks and any fast food place that have teenagers or all dudes on staff. I promise. You watch people prepare your food long enough, you would walk out. 😅

@@monabryant6799 yes and no. most countries in Africa don't use toilet paper, they spray. South Africa use t-paper. In Tanz they eat with one hand only and bathroom with other hand only and yes soap is stronger here in my opinion😄😄. this is the answers I got when I moved to Tanz. fancy places like restaurants and hotels or richer ppl use t paper here. don't feel embarrassed about he q.....I also asked a lot when I came here. its just difference in cultures that's all.

You have to wash your hands before you eat with your hands. There are some solid swallow foods that are eaten with hands, but the hands must be washed thoroughly before eating. Indians, Bangladeshis, Chinese, and Pakistanis eat with their hands.

Africans eat with their hands only when they are eating certain foods that require them to eat with their hands. It makes no sense to use utensils for some certain solid foods. In Nigeria, we have a dish called Eba, a food made from Cassava, which is turned into a solid food eaten with stew. It would be ridiculous to eat it with a spoon or fork. And despite the fact that people eat with their hands. They wash their hands before eating. They use utensils for food like rice, beans, and other dishes that require it. I find it ironic that an African American moves to Africa but doesn't try to understand the culture of why Africans eat certain foods with their hands.
