Likewise. As a Geography enthusiast from the U.S., I'm embarrassed. People abroad need to understand that there are people in this country who are skilled and knowledgeable at geography. It's a pity that it's only those who are terrible at it get the most attention, thus making the rest of us a mystery and a laughing stock to them.

India is a well known country it's different if you like dont know where Eswatini, or Montenegro is because they arent big like Russia, Canada, The U.S, Brazil, Japan, Korea, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, The U.K, Australia etc (I say big as land mass for Canada, but for population for like Japan)

I'm here to say that in the US many schools don't actually have a geography class. I'm an upperclassman in high school but in all my years of school I've never actually sat down and had a unit about geography. I've asked other students and even adults and they say the same thing. It's not in our curriculum. That's not to say that we still can't learn geography ourselves though. I think it's really important to have a strong concept of what they world outside the US is like. Especially to combat Eurocentrism. I just wanted to point out that many schools in the US do not teach geography and it is unlikely that people will do extra research at home.

This is why I decided to learn where every country in the world is, and can now successfully pinpoint them all on a map. As an American, I hate the stereotype that Americans are awful at geography, because it really is true to some extent. I'm halfway through high school, and was never taught world geography..

You're probably not going to remember that one person who knows the nation Lesotho, which is located entirely within South Africa. It also make for better entertainment. Jimmy Kimmel isn't going to have an entire segment dedicated to people knowing the location of various nations in the world. It's also a stereotype people like to reinforce by showing videos of outliers, while ignoring many examples of people, like the other two in this very video, knowing the location of many cities and countries
