I've had cats that went bonkers with catnip and others that didn't care.

I had a cat who never reacted to catnip if you put it down in front of him but if you rubbed it between your hands and then rubbed him he would go wild and turn into a kitten. He absolutely loved it like this and he would run and bounce and play just like he was 10 weeks old.

The catepillar at 10:03 is most likely a Giant Sphinx caterpillar! They are identifiable with the 8 black segments along their body. They may look scary, but they are safe and only appear that way as to not get swiped away by predators :)

Love the male lion starting out all grumpy and tough and ending up on his back with a sh** eating grin on his face. These animals were so fun to watch even when they didn't go for the catnip. The film of the jaguar enjoying her catnip at the end captured her magnificent beauty. Sweet and awe-inspiring at once.

My dad worked on the rail lines in western montana before he retired and he has photos of wild mountain lions rolling around in the catnip that grows wild in one area in his region. So even wild big cats are attracted to catnip. 😃

I noticed years ago at the Lincoln Park Zoo (Chicago) they had catnip growing in all the big cat enclosures.

My old roommates cat was a total fiend for catnip. We brought home a big bag one day, gave him a little then put it up in a cupboard in the kitchen that we thought he (the cat) wouldn't be able to get to. We went out barhopping for a while then came back. My roommate looks over the couch and starts to laugh. I joined him, and saw his cat on it's back, pupils completely dialated and in the center of a ring of catnip and shreds of the bag it came in, motionless and to our determination, probably having a psychedelic experience. We were more careful with where we hid the catnip after that.

I had a cat that seems to be unaffected by catnip. I always have it to the other cats (I used to take in cats that were unwanted or pregnant to care for and find homes). It took a while for me to realize the cats that act unaffected are just extra sensitive to the smell so don't need to get close or rub on it. They're typically the cats with a more serious personality. Mr Jibbers has such beautiful markings! Stunning! Some cats get grumpy, some get playful, some get sleepy, some get affectionate and the rare ones act unaffected but a little goes a long way with them. I think they just don't like to lose control of their emotions. 😂

There's spray bottles of catnip too. Just two sprays hand over to them , there's also calming spray too , give that to maxes out!! They reminded me back when I used to get like that on human catnip, rolling around , looking at everything like you never seen it before , and then the munchies hit you ! Now you got to go a little further on being a kitty with the big cats, make a size proportionate for each cat a big and bigger and biggest mouse on a stick or the balls in the rings that they paw at . Two good things with the toys is (1), keeps their mind busy and happy (2) gives them some exercise and fitness too! oh really cool idea, shrooms next time though,......,lol just kidding! But am I?

I remember, a few years ago, someone else trying this, and the big cats didn't like it, but the smaller cats, like the Caracals, Ocelots, and I think even the Puma liked it.

This is a great video, I've had many cats in my life, most loved catnip but not all. My kitties that loved it reacted exactly the same way these big cats are, I do love kitties of all size and knowing how similar they are is wonderful.

Absolutely loved this! Big cats are spectacular. I had the opportunity to interact with a tiger cub. I believe he was 4 months old and I was able to bottle feed him and he Kaye’s across my lap and I loved every moment of it! ❤

I'm from the UK and there's a TV series here called Animal Park, which basically follows the animals and keepers at Longleat Safari park. In one episode they tried giving lions (possibly tigers) a bag of lavender which had a similar effect as catnip. I guess you could try different strong smelling herbs and see how they respond? It would be an interesting experiment. Loved the video, cats are fascinating.🐯🦁🐾
