I 100% agree I have CPTSD which is like ptsd on steroids and my chi is my emotional support dog and I don’t know where I would be without him. Their innate ability to sense your emotional needs is astounding. Chihuahuas are wonderful service animals.

@@Little..Wallflower since writing this comment two years ago I found out I have seizures. The ONLY reason I even know is because of my Chihuahua Tiko, he smells them and he alerts to me when I wake up and he lets me know I have had another one. These dogs are amazing 🥰😍🥰🥰

My chihuahua was a rescue dog and now he is my service dog. He has no formal training, but somehow he can tell when I am going to have a type of migraine that mimics a stroke and can actually cause me to have a stroke. He somehow knows he must warn me before I start to have one of these by crying and continually licking my face. We thought we were saving him but he saves me. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Awe! That's such a lovely story Dogs always seem to know when something's up and it's so precious that he warns you before one is coming on.

OMG! Yass! My CoCo is sooo intune with ME! She knows me so well 🥰 Ur absolutely right, they know their owners! If I feel depressed she’ll come right to me & snuggles by my ❤️ she could just look at me & already knows what I’m thinking or feeling! I do believe they are the best companion to have! 🐾💕 Omg look at Bobby Humphrey & his sanctuary, BIG GUY LITTLES WORLD! He has over 60 Chihuahua’s! 🐾🥰 Gr8 channel

My roommates Chi is a service dog and can sense blood sugar highs and lows. She's amazing and so well behaved. I recommend getting them professionaly trained to be one though .

I ADORE your videos! I found you & subscribed immediately. I was owned by an adorable 6lb deer head for almost 18years. Sadly, she had congestive heart failure for the last 5 years of her life. Thankfully good vet care, medication, & intense love gave me those 5 years❤️ I am a new Mommie again! I just got my 13 week old baby 5 weeks ago. He's happy, healthy and INTO EVERYTHING! Your videos have been so helpful because I'd forgotten a lot about the puppy stage. I just cannot thank you enough. If, at a later date I decide I want to get another Sweetie Pie I'll be coming to you! Just don't tell my husband🤫 LOL!

*Oh goodness yes, they make excellent service animals! My previous chi, Nietzche was great, he always knew before me when I was gonna pass out or have an episode. Now my tiny Toulouse has the honors, he is my everything but only warns me 75% of the time -but he’s always there to give mommy kisses until she feels better. (He’s a year old and training can be long without a professional training program.)

Love your energy and your channel! I just discovered and subbed to you a couple of days ago. I'm getting a baby chichi in a couple of days and I live in a studio apartment. I'm wondering if you have any suggestions for pee pad training my pup with limited space. Initially, I was going to use the crate method but it takes up too much room :/

cionna hello, thank you so much for your subscription and kind encouragement. Congratulations on getting a sweetie pie 😍 I’m so excited for you. Regarding your question, YES!!! I have the perfect solution for you. This video shows the easiest/quickest way to pee pad train a Chihuahua. You could use the same concept with a fresh patch if you want to try those rather than pee pads. I do think the fresh patch subscription is more environmentally friendly than potty pads which go into a landfill, but Pads are just so convenient so I use those. I definitely recommend the two crate system as indicated in the video. Hey girl! I just got my Luci, she’s a black and white short hair! She’s 8 weeks old and totally fearless. We are working on getting her to enjoy her crate and playpen time so it’s rough in our house right now lol. I don’t have any questions, just wanted to say I appreciate you! 🙂

Allison Buettner hi there! Congratulations on your new family member 😍 Luci’s fearlessness is a common chihuahua trait. It serves them well - and can also be tricky to train. You’re doing a great job. I don’t mean to give unsolicited advice, but I highly recommend you immediately begin training her that all the humans in the house are her pack leaders. Fearless Chihuahua tend to test those boundaries often and if unchecked, can lead to food aggression. My advice, practice daily “give and take” treat exercises. Have you (and especially your kids if you have any) hand her chew treats, let her chew for a few minutes, and them take them away from her again. This teaches her that her people are in charge, not the other way around. I have to do this exercise regularly with Sabrina to prevent her from becoming food aggressive. I wish you the best of luck 🐶❤️

Wow I appreciate your knowledge about these dogs, was always wondering if they'd make good service dogs. Can you make a video or review for Chihuahuas that are shedding alot and have dull coats? What to feed, and if raw diets are a no-no ? Plz help

We don't have a video specifically on that, I can think about making one soon. However, I do feed all my chis the small - medium breed puppy kibble for 8 weeks - a year from BuyLifesAbundance.com and after a year the all stage hard kibble from the same website. I've found that after about 6 months it's made all of their coats silky smooth and so healthy!

He there, so glad to have helped 😊 I feed all of mine the small to medium breed hard kibble until they’re a year old and then I switch them to the all stage hard kibble. Here’s the link to buy it: www.BuyLifesAbundance.com I love this brand of food. It has the right blend of protein/fat/fiber and it’s packed full of probiotics. I discovered this food about five years ago and within about six months of my sweetie pies being on this food their coats all took on a super soft, extra shine. I think that’s from the probiotics. Other brands claim to have probiotics, and I’m sure they probably did when they manufacture the food, but since they sit on a warehouse shelf for up to a year before your dog eats it, most of the probiotics have died before consumption. This company is different because the don’t sell in pet stores. They make small batches of food and ship it directly to the consumer so it’s super fresh and your sweetie pie actually gets live probiotics. I wish you the best of luck 🐶❤️

Hello i been watching your channel for a long time now i have a question because im getting a short coat chihuahua. For low blood sugar dose it affect all types of chihuahuas like big or small?

Hello, yes low blood sugar can happen to any dog, but the smaller and younger they are, the more likely they can be affected by it. Just make sure your sweetie pie eats every couple of hours. They don't need to eat a lot at once, it's more important they eat small meals often throughout the day. Congratulations on your new sweetie pie. 😍

There's not a specific amount because each dog and brand of food is going to be different. Some brands won't have as much calories per cup as others. I recommend the small to medium breed puppy kibble for chis 8 weeks - a year, after that the all stage hard kibble. This is all from BuyLifesAbundance.com I prefer them over others because of how soft I've seen my chis coats become and how much energy it gives them.

I have four chihuahuas. Who don't like this time of year. The 4th of July Fire work and popping sounds and sometimes bumming sounds. There in the house all the time. I feel like they get anxiety in the evenings until it stops. Panting and just looking scared. I set with them and comfort them until they are calm. What do you do about this? Because this will go on for at least a week. 🙂👍

Good question! I try my best to be there for them and give them treats and such. If you can move them to a quiet room with a fan on or some other background noise, that can help them. Sitting with them and comforting them is the best you can do really, so keep it up!

I have a 4 month old pomchi that I am wanting to train as a psychiatric service dog when I fake a heavy breathing and he’s sleeping when I fake my heavy breathing for my panic attacks he wakes up out of the deep sleep to check on me we are working on basics right now but we are also working on the focus and touch as well

In preparation for getting my 1st chi i ordered a hoodie with a pouch that was designed specifically for small dogs. Also, i don't believe in crating but my mum insisted that at night UNTIL she is potty trained she has to be in something... so im thinking I'll order a baby bassinet i found on Walmarts website that has a screened hood on both ends that can be raised and zipped together? That way she is right by my bed and we can see each other and not just her only being able to smell and hear me... what do you think sweetie pie pets?

hey that's a great idea !!. Mine sleeps on my bed, when he wants to go potty, he gets out from under the covers and stands on the edge of the bed and cries.

That sounds like a good idea, for the most part young chihuahuas need some kind of crate potty training. A bassinet that you keep her in for the night could be a good idea until she's fully potty trained

It depends on your apartments rules on pets, usually you have to pay either a monthly or one time fee to have a pet in your apartment

I haven't really looked into raw food diets for dogs so I don't know a lot about it but I do know the kibble I use from BuyLifesAbundance.com has me very happy. I use the small to medium breed puppy hard kibble for chis anywhere from 8 weeks - a year and after that the all stage hard kibble. The kibble I use has really improved all my sweetie pie's coats after about 6 months

Well, they can be good for alerting you of an intruder by barking, but generally bigger dogs with training make the best guard dogs as they can be intimidating
