Have the exact same truck, except I got the knn intake, can definitely feel the hp gains, great video man. Disproves all the people saying it's all in your head and the only thing it changes is the sound. Keep the kids coming so you can pave the way for me

I guess you didn't see the new Engine Masters episode where they put the stickers to the test. It can't just be any sticker though and when they put an Eldebrock sticker on it it blew up. Please be careful if you're going to do this. Don't mess around and bring it to your local performance shop.

Now for the SS tubular manifolds, heat wrapped and straight through SS pipes with high flow cats (if needed in your state). Then dyno again 😀

I have a 2014 Silverado with the 5.3L. I just put on the aFe Momentum GT CAI on it. Gained about 15hp and 18 tq at the wheels. Happy with the performance and the throatier sound it makes too

God to see you got a good deal, when I bought my 2016 Sutliff didn't want to entertain ordering me a Silverado with the RPO codes I wanted, they wanted to sell me a truck from their inventory. I ended up buying from Banks in Concorde NH. Got exactly what I wanted for thousands less. Get a catch can on that before your intake valves carbon up.

I have a 2016 silverado 5.3L. so far i have done a k&n cold air intake, an air-aid throttle body spacer and a gibson metal mulisha 4 inch cat back exhaust. noticed significant throttle response and the sound made from the exhaust is loud and satisfying!!!

Mike, for an Exhaust, I'd recommend a Flowmaster Outlaw Exhaust system with headers, I put that combo in my '09 5.3 and it's a true beast!! Great Vids!

Great practical comparison! I always thought GM made the best V8 gas motors. Do you guys think the factory ducting is the main culprit of restriction? Also do you plan to run an oil catch can on the truck? Mainly because of the direct injection?

@TNT your telling me that my 6.2L with CAI and exhaust would lose to a 5.3L with the same exact mods? If so how?

IDK???? Pass me what you are smoking. I had an 06 5.3 ECSB Sierra with the 5.3 and 3.73:1 ratio dyno tuned with intake and exhaust. She made close to 300 at the wheels on the dyna pack if i remember correctly. I test drove a 2018 5.3 with 3.42 and that thing could not find it's way out of a paper sack. I bought the 6.2 Sierra and it will blow the doors off my old 06. It is as fast or faster than my 06 Monte Carlo SS with the 5.3.

@TNT I know this is late but dude you have lost your mind on this one. A 5.3 with FBO would not run a 6.2 with the same trans and gear ratio. Your uncle just doesn't know how to drive! Since you seem a little cocky why not send me some videos of your truck and compare them to the 14 5.3 I tuned and see how they compare. He can get in the 5s 0-60 with E85 and he's tune only. No intake and stock cats and manifolds. But he raced a 2009 Silverado with the 6.2 and my tune. (they make significantly less torque than the new DI) and he walked the dog on him in a race with a truck load full of people. The only way a 5.3 will out run a 6.2 is if it's a reg cab and is on e85 and the 6.2 is a crew cab 4wd that's STOCK

@TNT Yes the driver matters but unless you're jumping you're not out running a 6.2! Now if you're talking how you out ran this 80 year old with a 10 sec reaction time then I understand.

@TNT I have a 6.0 liter with a 410 rear end and that thing will out pull a 5.2 anyday.

Main reason I bought my 17 F-150 with the 5.0 coyote is boost potential from a really easy roots blower install....my F150 5.0 put down 311hp at the wheels with 20's and 35's on 6" lift....and the ford is much lighter.. cant wait for it to be well over 500hp at the wheels..

this was a good ad for Cold Air Inductions. I have an '03 Tiburon GT and I think I'ma check them out. Wish I could get 20whp out of a cold air intake. It's said that after about 100 miles the ECU dumbs the power back down.....it's also said that you get 2 or 3 horses at most ouot of a CAI too so........
