There is a difference between dental implants with dentures and dental implants with zirconia crowns.... Zirconia crowns doesn't have any kind of denture... So they are comfortable to wear.

It should be affordable for everyone to save their natural teeth. If that is not possible like in my case. Dentures that everyone can afford. We need teeth to eat and you low self esteem. With bad teeth or no teeth at all. Right now my husband has no teeth.

I am speaking only for myself... I am 60 years old and had far too many fluoride treatments as a child. Back "in the day" they used to offer free dental work for children, believe it or not. Our government funded it because ...well, I guess back then we had more compassionate people in government. However, the over enthusiastic fluoride treatments that were designed to protect teeth from decay also sealed teeth too much. The extensive fluoride cut off oxygen through the outer shell of the teeth which resulted in teeth rotting from the inside out. It has become a problem for a lot of people my age. So, realizing that I was in for a serious major malfunction of my teeth when I became older, I worked for 30 years and saved up money over time specifically to have my teeth replaced. As time passed my teeth began turning black from the inside out. They broke off, cracked, became infected, and a few were pulled. It was embarrassing to talk or open my mouth or to smile or laugh. After 30 years of saving money, my zirconia upper and lower permanent implants cost $65,000. That amounts to $180 per month for 30 years. It's insane, but the procedure is extensive and requires a lot of schooling, training, expertise, expensive equipment, expensive parts, and a lot of lab and preparation labor is involved in producing and installing dental implants. It's a major operation that is nearly equal to surgery for a hip replacement. It's sad, though, that a free or truly affordable dental prevention program isn't available to everyone in our nation the way it was when I was a child. Although they over did it with fluoride treatments their attempt to provide free preventive measures for children was a noble cause. The only way to get our nation back on track is to spread the word for the need of free dental preventive care. Taxpayers will collectively pay for the cost, but spread across millions of taxpayers the cost is minimal per capita. The benefit would reduce other poor oral condition borne diseases like, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, immune deficiency, arthritis, muscular disease, etc... which are all linked to poor dental hygiene and dental failure complications. As a nation of citizens (who are supposed to be united) we would all benefit from better oral care that provides a healthier and happier society as a whole. The cost that each citizen has to pay independently is far, far too expensive for most people. $65,000 is a lot of money. Some full upper and lower implants like mine can cost as much as $90,000 if there are complications ahead of the operation. I got lucky. I am sorry that so many people who I live among in our nation are suffering with horrible, embarrassing, and physically painful teeth, mouth sores, bone loss, and other related illnesses due to the lack of personal financial leverage. Raising the minimum wage isn't going to help the average middle income wage earner to afford $65,000 teeth. The only way to gain free (or very low cost) full dental care is for the American people to gather together to form a lobbying special interest group and literally pay the rent and living expenses to have the members of that special interest group move and live in Washington DC so they can lobby on behalf of the American people on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. With enough pressure on Washington legislators will come the affordable dental care that millions of Americans so desperately need. Until then, millions of Americans will go on suffering horribly, and some to their premature death due to poor dental care, or no dental care. That should never happen in a wealthy nation as ours. Before anyone says something about how far in debt America is at $29 trillion dollars, that debt is peanuts. There are over 300 major U.S. cities and New York City alone has a Gross Domestic Product of $4 trillion per year. Many U.S. cities have nearly $1 trillion in GDP per year. There is plenty of money available to pay off the national debt in one week. It isn't a bad thing to have a national debt. A national debt doesn't work like a household budget. There is no comparison. They are two very different things. So, please don't fall for that old adage that the taxpayers can't afford it. There are 6 people in the U.S. who have more money than 98% of the rest of us, combined. Again, 6 people in the U.S. have more wealth than 300 million Americans. None of them pay taxes. Instead, the taxpayers actually pay them a tax rebate! THAT is what is wrong with our dental care problem in the United states of America. The majority of Americans need to unite and form a lobbyist group in Washington DC to fight for the right to have the best dental care the taxpayers can buy. It will more than pay for itself in the long run. Think of it as an investment in our national citizen's health rather than an expense. Lowering the cause of expensive diseases caused by poor dental care also lowers the medical cost for our citizens. The money saved will go into our economy to generate more GDP which then lowers the cost of great dental care. It truly is a wise investment with profitable payback benefits for everyone. ...and so, here we are.

If you go to Mexico for dental implants and a serious complication happens, and there can be many serious complications, there isn't going to be anyone around in the U.S. to help you. Loose implants, infection, allergic reaction to the metal implants, shifting and adjusting, temporary anchored dentures during the 6 month healing period that are larger to allow gums to heal and settling prior to permanent final anchored dentures, and more. Going to Mexico is a bad idea.

The good news is that you are still very young. I wish I was 19 again. In fact, I wish I was 15 again because that was the time that my dentist told me I needed braces & I declined them due to them being permanent for 2 years. If you've ever seen 1990's braces, you'll know why I declined them, lol. But it's never too late to change your smile. I'm an old man compared to you at 45, and I have hated my teeth all my adult life & am only now doing something about it. You can too and I wish you all the best for the future.

Hi, I’m in the same situation as you but older. My teeth have deteriorated a lot since we went into lockdown and now I don’t want to see anyone other then close family. I really sympathise with you. I have anxiety and have always had a fear of the dentist so I didn’t go regularly. You would think that would have made me look after my teeth but it didn’t. Don’t be too hard on yourself as there are lots of people who haven’t cared for their teeth properly and it won’t help you move forward. We will get through this and hopefully be stronger for it. I didn’t neglect my teeth and they now look horrible. I have had so many bad experiences from dentists, I hate going now. I went to a dentist regularly when I had insurance in the past. They were always fixing something. Ruined my teeth. My siblings rarely go to the dentist and all of their teeth look really good. My brother went to a dentist for 1 tooth and had major complications from that 1 tooth. He said it’s never been the same. But at least all of their teeth look great. I thought I was doing good letting them do all the stuff to my teeth. I should have just never kept going. Regret that decision every single day. Hopefully it will get better for you 🥰

@@Zehratul It will vary depending on how you do it and how your insurance is. For me, it was 100% out of pocket. Some may say it is a lot, but they didn't have to live through what I did. The price was well worth the results. YMMV

I had to go the other route because of income. I had to choose to be toothless and proud. Dentures were a horrible experience. Since, so far they don't want to find a cure, or make things affordable, I hope that society can learn to not look down on the toothless and tooth damaged.

@woutervanlent5181 It is a lot to process. I finally went to the dentist to start the process. Of getting dentures. When the dentist starts talking tooth loss. It is overwhelming feeling. It does make you sad too. They think they can save few of them. Do some partials for now. But it is only matter of time where I will need dentures. My husband has been without the majority of his teeth for 23 years. He wouldn't wear the partial he was given. Just recently the rest were pulled. But he has a lot of gum shrinkage and bone loss. His top denture will be all. That he will be able to wear. I feel so terrible for him.

I have just one, one of my big teeth...been 2 years with no problem ,it feels and performs like a real tooth and i never even think about it. As far as the procedure, the worst pain is the numbing shots before hand..when you're all numbed up you feel no pain just some pressure that's very tolerable. They give plenty of pain med for the following days but i didn't need much of it. Good luck!

Hey I got my all on 4 surgery 4 days ago I did both upper n lower. I went to Nuvia and they gave me permanent zirconia teeth in 24 hrs. Total about 42k I did 10K down and with a co-signer like 450 a month. I’m dealing with a lot of swellling and some pain. I think this is the best investment in the whole world I’m 29 and my teeth were crumbling by the day. I just hope they start feeling normal cause it’s a weird feeling with these new teeth. I feel like I’m wearing a Halloween teeth lol. But yeah I’m so excited to be healed and feel pretty ❤

@Nicole Newman I had my implants done in March all together was 5 posts in the bottom and 6 on top. Instead of getting a temp implant during my healing period I opted to modify my existing dentures to make space for the implanted posts. I would not recommend that. It was an awful 6ish weeks of healing. Was literally only soft food and soup. Now that I am healed and the final products installed it is insane how real they feel when eating. I am in my mid 40s and have not had this level of bite power since my teens. The best i can say is trust the system. Follow the instructions. Make sure you are following self care etc. And the healing will fly by in no time

@@Tinanbobby There are two schools of thoughts in dentistry. First is trying to preserve your natural teeth as much as we can, that means reducing your enamel and putting crowns on top of it. This will preserve the natural sensations of having your natural teeth. Depending on the quality of the crowns and the workmanship of the dentist, crowns may or may not last forever. When majority of your natural teeth are truly compromised, then implants will be a good option. There are many brands of implants on the market, and their prices vary. Approximately, 80% of your total cost is for the treatment by your dentist or dental surgeon, and the implants, 20% will be the hybrid dentures by the dental lab. A very rough estimate would be $1000usd / implant + $2000usd for the full upper and lower hybrid dentures. Please consult your dentist for the best restoration option for you. Removing all of your teeth is really the last option. Just beware that some dentists will NOT choose a conservative route. Depending on the ethics of the dentist, profitability may affect their opinions. Hope this helps a bit.

Congratulations to that decision. I am pretty sure you will not regret it. Getting your smile back is a huge thing. Being able to eat without fear? Heavenly! No infections, no pain and no bad breath anymore? Imagine that! But don't worry too much about the extraction. I am extremely sensitive to pain, had several extractions including two root extractions and didn't feel a bit. Lidocaine is reliable stuff and numbs you up for way longer than necessary.

I'm am so not the norm. Growing up I always had excruciating tooth pain after visiting the dentist from my early teens to early 20s. I had 22 root canals before I was 24 years old. Once I had my wisdom teeth pulled alot of the pain stopped. It was suggested that I probably shouldn't of had most of those root canals. They weren't necessary. But when my teeth started fracturing and breaking I had no pain, so now I'm reluctant to go to the dentist . I guess if I had pain it wouldn't make a difference but since I don't I just can't bring myself to open up that can of worms again.

My point is that speaking about oral care and the effects it has on a person regarding their health as well as confidences the prices that are beyond what people can pay etc.....is ignored. The world acts as if everyone is walking around with Hollywood smiles.

Making dentures that fit well and look good. That are affordable for everyone. Should be the priority. Implants have to be placed surgically. Need to be removed every six months to be cleaned. It is not possible for all of us to have implants. The majority of us will have dentures. So why isn’t there more research. Into dentures that fit better and look better.

My mouth is too narrow and I cannot breathe through my nose so when I sleep I can only breath through my mouth. Apparently, this dries out teeth and makes them rot no matter how much/well you brush/floss. Why couldn't ANY dentist tell me this so that I could fix my nasal passage when I was still young and still had teeth?

@@etherealceleste They never offer solutions that will help you with dry mouth because they want to keep making money off of you. My dentist even did this to me, and he was someone that my family had known him since he was a boy - my brother grew up with him, and he is the dentist for all of us now. I spent the money to get _ALL_ of my teeth capped with most having root canals, because meds I have to be on give me dry mouth. He would just tell me that I will keep having problems with my teeth until I get off the medicines, which is not possible! I will be on these meds for life because of my disability! I did my own personal research and found an extremely simple and super cheap solution of having him write a prescription for a medicine called pilocarpine. I take it at night time with my medicines that cause the dry mouth, and ever since I’ve never had another cavity… even when I have terrible hygiene and I’m not brushing my teeth as often as I should (however I’m not eating sugary foods and such). What does the medicine do? It simply makes you salivate (and sweat a bit too, but I am passed out sleeping, so it doesn’t bother me). It really disturbs me that such a simple solution was there *this entire time,* yet not one single dentist told me about it and I had to give them *my entire life savings* of $30k _PLUS_ $10k in credit card debt to keep treating teeth. The only break he cut me was forgiving the final $700 dollars I owed because I simply had no more funds or credit card line to pay it! They really are greedy arses without a conscience. I tell everybody now about that medicine (pilocarpine) whenever someone shares with me that they are having similar issues with dry mouth and cavities. My dentist pretended like he never heard of this simple solution, yet he prescribed the medicine to me upon my request without any pushback whatsoever. He went to USC for his degree (an extremely prestigious college that is _VERY_ difficult to be accepted into), so to pretend like he never heard of such a solution in all of his career with his big lQ is a complete joke which I don’t buy for a moment. I’m bet my life that he has never once recommended pilocarpine to anyone of his patients that are in similar shoes to me ever since I began getting the prescription from him - he wants all the money and work he can get. Pure greed.

Best decision I ever made. I lost bone in my jaw due to chemo so my natural teeth began moving. It was dentures or implants. Choose implants and so glad I did. I have 6 implants on top and 6 on bottom so mine are quite secure! I can eat whatever I want. I choose zirconium for the teeth material for its look as well as it’s durability. No regrets. Surgery was not bad at all. I really didn’t have any pain. However, had to wait 3 months from temporaries to permanents. And I wasn’t happy with first set of perms so they corrected the issue and the 2nd set is great. Don’t hold back…do it!

I had the same - 12 upper, 8 lower, with the result looking similar to Walton Coggins, though absolutely nowhere near as bulky. The actual bridges with ''teeth'' fitted and shaped to the upper and lower gums for a perfect fit. In fact just strong-looking teeth. It wasn't cheap by any means - but a fantastic investment. At the time - 5 Sept 1990 - the procedure was state of the art. And They're still going strong.

My biological dentist put a plan together for myself that consists of 8 upper and 6 lower implants plus some jaw bone regen/calcium implants. Does 8+6 seem like overkill to you at all? I'll be looking at $49,000 once it's all said and done. Also, how did they go about doing the sinus lift ? I may need that as well. Thanks in advance for your time

That's what I have. They provide a 100% bite force. Traditional poly-plastic dentures can only withstand a 30% bite force. I don't know if I mentioned on this thread or not, I can't remember, that my zirconia implant arches cost $55,000 for both (a set). They wanted $64,000. I got them to drop the price to $55,000. That's ridiculous what they charge for dental implants. Mine are "all on 4."

I decided not to get the implants. So now I am stuck with having no teeth on my bottom. There is not enough ridge to get regular dentures. I’m ok with it. The shape of my face is changing. I’m ok with that too. I don’t give a fig about other people’s opinions.

Yes! Went good I guess. Had all my teeth extracted and the implants put in. Yesterday was the first day I didn’t sleep most of the day. Still very swollen. I can see my cheeks they are so puffy. 🤣 I am definitely a gopher chipmunk right now!

@@MarxMuru I was completely out for all of it. I have a very severe dental anxiety and there is absolutely zero chance I would have done it awake. I do know they said plan on 5-6 hours. I went in at 8 ish, was out by 8:30, and they called my husband at 11:15 and said I was done. I had all of my teeth still, minus my wisdoms. So they removed them all, did something with my lower jaw due to another issue (so most wouldn’t need that), and placed all the implants in that short amount of time. I had a previous dentist put braces on and do a few laser surgeries to save my teeth (at about $15k total) for nothing! So I am convinced the only reason my teeth were in was due to the braces. I am pretty sure the extraction part took no time at all. I go Wednesday to get the stitches out. I will have to stay awake for that. They will have to remove the temps for that. I will let ya know how “bad” that is. Just know even for a routine cleaning, I will pay for sedation. I hate even going into an office. So if I say it’s horrible, it’s probably not that bad. Lol the post op was no wear near as bad as I expected.

The truth is most of us. Will end up with dentures. Implants cost anywhere between $12,000-$80,000. No one who has middle class income. Or low income is going to be able to get implants. They make nice dentures for $1000. Even if dental was covered. Which I think it should be. Dentures are more affordable and less maintenance. Which if we all were covered. Would be what we would get.

Be careful there a lot of failure they not telling you about false teeth might be better, no long term side affect

It sounds like my tip here is likely too late to help you in your situation, but if you end up getting caps, then it could still help. My tip will definitely help others regardless though! To those experiencing dry mouth issues (which causes rampant tooth decay), it is paramount to get on a certain kind of medication ASAP that will save you tens of thousands of dollars in dental work. Dentists will never tell you about this tip, because they are greedy and want all the work/money they can get, but they should prescribe the medication to you if you simply ask! Mine did (but I only learned about the medication from doing personal research after I’d already given my dentist $40k for dental work, and couldn’t afford to get any more dental work for cavities/caps/root canals!). The medication I discovered through my own research is _UBER_ cheap and only costs a few bucks a month with insurance (I’m sure it doesn’t cost much either if you don’t have insurance - it’s been out for eons), and what it does is *it causes you to salivate,* so that you _AREN’T_ experiencing dry mouth. It’s amazing and so simple! The only side effect I’ve experienced is a bit of head sweating, but because I take it at night with my other meds that are the ones that cause my dry mouth, I am sleeping through that the slight sweating. What I would give to have learned about this medicine many, many years ago, when my tooth decay started because of the medication I was put on for my disability health problems. I could’ve kept my life savings and not be in credit card debt. 😢 Not one single doctor or dentist told me about such a simple solution, which really tells you everything you need to know about the greedy/wicked health and dental industry. I’m not a brainiac like these doctors are, yet I figured out how to fix my problem just by doing a dang google search when I realized I was no longer able to pay for any more dental work! These dentists/doctors don’t have an excuse!

Or ask your doctor to prescribe you a saliva pill that helps you produce more saliva in your mouth. My dad's are super tiny pills he takes twice a day and doesn't have any adverse side effects

I put mine off due to fear and shame. I finally interviewed a couple of dentist at 50. I picked one who did sleepy time and mustered up the courage and did it. BEST decision ever. After healing up I can eat what I want and have a better smile than God gave me. I hope you can have this too as mouth pain is the worst. I had all my teeth pulled and implants done in 2 days. I dont remember it due to sleepy time drugs. Soar for few days had to eat mushy shit for awhile. Knowing what i know now Id do it again. im 57 now so 7 yrs all good.

I’m not sure if this comment is going to a person who sent in a comment or to the presenter that made this video. however I can say ditto to what Lori has written except I’m older but I feel the exact same way I’m embarrassed I’ve been to several dentist already and I haven’t found the one I feel comfortable with yet. I just recently Spoke with a Dentist associate of a reputable dentist in Seattle Washington near where I reside he’s pretty well known and has a new procedure that doesn’t use titanium for the implant, this is pretty rare ,however I am not positive but I think I’m looking at more than 45 or 50,000 may be up to 100,000. Here I thought I was looking at 40,000 and that seems to be a lot of money but I want the best person for the job in the best product for my money anybody have any suggestions on how do you find the right Dentist for the job? This Dentist has done an infomercial on television he uses Stem cell so the healing is quicker and you can have the implant put in the day you have your teeth pulled out. That is not your final set you wait a while until you heal and then get your final set. this sounds so much better than waiting six months having the implant put in and waiting another five or six months for your final fit I had my hopes up that I’m not sure how much I want to spend over 40,000. I always seem I am not ready to commit ! Also I’m so glad I found you a real patient it’s usually the dentist and when I saw you I thought there is no way you had dentures and that’s what I want mine to be like.Thank you for the inspiration ,I so need to do this.

I too at 41 have struggled with my smile. I found myself a private dentist because nhs dentists don't do the full work needed. £800 for the job lot paid over 6 month. I always looked after my teeth until much trauma, nothing to be embarrassed about x

I agree it’s so unfair there isn’t better dental coverage. I need like 8-10 crowns on all my molars and some pre molars, have one so far. Dentist said filling is breaking on another molar but can wait on it maybe another year, it’s gonna be $1700 like how can I afford it all ugh. I don’t have dental insurance but it usually doesn’t cover much anyway. I have been saving for it but then I’m afraid to spend a fortune and it still fails then I need dentures.

@@milliem8051 It's a shameful situation all the way around. I appreciate the skill and materials that go into denistry, but it should be available and affordable to ANY one who so desperately needs it. It affects every aspect of our lives. Money is the frickin' root of all evil!

@@lindahandley5267 right. And a lot of people have dental issues that stem from growing up poor and/or family abuse/neglect. That’s how my teeth got so bad then by the time I had money to get to the dentist and learned better hygiene, the damage was done. My sisters have bad teeth too, one in dentures in her 40s. I feel lucky that my teeth at least look good, no one would realize how bad my teeth are.

I am in the UK and i'm booked in for the 9th of March to have all mine out and new implants. i am so worried, but i'm at the stage where i can barely eat. i am a smoker so have to stop otherwise the warranty will be void, but for what it is costing me it is a sacrifice i have to take.

Good lord 150k?...what "normal" person can afford that? Just financing that is a mortgage payment. Costs are out of control and affordable solutions for dental care (even BASIC care) are sadly out of reach for most people. I'm glad you were able to accomplish your result but that's an incredible amount of money.

Pretty sure that’s my issue too. Ive had bad teeth all my life. Im 54 now. No amount of brushing or flossing could control the decay. Folling fell out. Root canals failed and the teeth fell out. It’s been a life long nightmare.

A Waterpik is Instrumental in flossing the implants and after 10 years I’ve had no issues. I’ve got 22 implants as well.

My is in her 70s she has couple of implants. She uses waterpik still got infection. Underneath the implant that had to be taken out drained. Then done again. This person is correct about risk of infection.

I hate to say this but for many of us who aren't doing this we aren't choosing between a luxury car (never been able to afford a vehicle I have walked myself to school, college and work my whole life) and our teeth or a vacation (never been on one unless you count a 5 day camping trip in 1st grade an hour or two from our home) and our teeth. Personally I'm choosing between having heat during the winter or teeth. Food or teeth. The ability to see or teeth (I can only afford at best $11 glasses from Zenni mind you) I don't have internet in my home. I only have a phone because my friend added me to his family plan to help me stay in contact with family and employers. I consider it a huge luxury to have even though you literally can not gain employment without it. I think many of us are not in a position to even dream of a nice car unfortunately. I'm extremely happy that you were able to get this done though and I hope you can treat yourself to a vacation next year to show your new smile off! 😀 I hope it becomes more accessible one day though. Honestly I hope dental care becomes more accessible as a whole. I've heard that you can go to Thailand and stay for months getting your teeth worked on and doing touristy stuff and still not end up paying the cost of an American sized dentistry bill 😩😂💸💸

@@franquil85conn haven't ever gone on a vacation is not the same as haven't left my house stop strawmanning. The only reason I could afford college is that I was in the foster system for a year and you get the maximum in financial aid if you go to college after a foster placement. instead of my time as a student being the poorest time of my life it was one of the richest so far. Mind you I probably wouldve pulled myself out of a lifelong struggle with homelessness and poverty had the pandemic not started. I actually did get a good job for a very short while making $18 an hour starting before everything shut down. But then I had to leave the state and ended up in a friend's storm shelter for a year. You are extremely privileged to not realize how difficult it is to grow up without stable access to power, water, food and shelter and then pull yourself up to the point where VACATIONS and LUXURY VEHICLES are realistic. I'm not going to apologize for saying that most of us aren't picking cruises and corvettes over a pain free existence where we can fucking chew. Get over yourself. Everyone wants to tell you that all you have to do is save money. What do you think that looks like when your starting point is so far below most people's worst experiences?! It looks like never getting to go on a vacation because you can't afford to take a day off, see a doctor, see a dentist, pay all your bills in any given month... How much did it end up costing you if you dont mind saying? I've had dentures for a few years now that I paid almost 5k for. I've given up trying to eat with them in. Implants may be a better option for me

Just depends on what kind of money you can pay, implants are the best but full mouth is super expensive,then you got the all on four like this lady has which cost about half of the latter.regular dentures can cost a couple grand not including extractions

​@@user-ie6le5qd2p In 2017 I spent $29,000 for bone grafts, 6 implants & 2 complete sets of dentures (temporary & permanent). I used Care Credit & 6 implants were all l could afford at the time. I was advised to get 8.

My teeth were so awful that I’m sure those hillbilly teeth you buy at the Halloween store would have been better. Anything but my natural teeth. So while it was a rough ride at times, it was significantly better than what I had. But yes, that temp set is going to get loose, fit weird, rub and cause sore spots, requires several adjustments, etc. By the time your gums properly heal and most of the shrinkage has taken place, you will get a permanent set that is usually way better quality and fits so much better. It was a night and day difference for me. But yes, without adhesive to create a barrier, food can get under there. Thing is, food gets under my hybrids all the time. I have a little bit of space between the hybrid and my gums to allow me to clean it properly with floss and a waterpik. In fact, more food gets under here than it did with my dentures but it’s something I got used to. From what I hear, a lot of people have problems with partials. Also, lower dentures cause the most problems because there is no suction. Dentists usually recommend at leas a couple of implants on the bottom to snap that denture in. Any setup you get is going to have some pros and cons but it sounds like you might be happier with snap in dentures. More affordable than what I have, does basically the same thing but has to be removed, which means you can clean them better. I hope some of this helps. Hang in there. It can still be a little rough 8 weeks out.

all-on 4s are very costy and food still goes under them, snap-ins could be a good option, on top of what Kalinjax said, they prevent shrinkage
