I believe it, because both are meat. If one was a carrot and the other was meat, and the dog smelled the carrot last, then it would almost definitely still go for the meat. But dogs probably prefer cooked meat, since they are domesticated. These two experiments were biased, because they didn't ever show the dogs the raw meat first and then the cooked meat last. It was cooked first, raw last every time. They should have done it both ways for both dogs on different days. That could at least rule out that they go for whichever one was smelled most recently, if they still always go for the raw.

J C it is not recommended giving domesticated Dogs raw meat. Although it is healthy and poses no health risk, giving raw meat to dogs makes their wild instincts kick in over time.Raw meat is close to fresh kill as it gets and dogs become more prone to become aggressive with food or anyone. Domesticated dogs should just stick to kibbles or cooked meat. Cats also.

True meat eater choices! I'm wondering if Sky would have been happier if her raw turkey was chopped up... Key won't eat his raw meat if the lumps are bigger than bitesized, he just dumps it on the floor. He usually has mince, but if I give him chicken breast of steak I have to chop it up first, he's picky! And those socks are really cute and look well made!

Key and Sky are so alike in terms of picky-ness lol. Sky doesn't quite show it as good as Key does but yes she needed it to be cut up and she probably would have been happy with it. But she wasnt complaining with the cooked 😋

@@MyMountainHusky Yeah Key is good at showing his displeasure at things, he'll sometimes take a treat and drop it on the floor if he didn't really want it! And like Sky he likes cooked meat too. It's funny how you've got one picky and one that seems happy to eat most things :)

The test is not done properly. Put the meat next to each other, not one inch further so they can choose right under their nose. They like meat, and they more likely eat them one by one if the tables are too far...

@@ATLTraveler Lol, but the point is to find out which they prefer. They were obviously being led to the raw meat, since that is what they smelled last both times, and they even showed the raw meat to the second dog multiple times.

@@shadow_of_thoth I mean they were trying to make a highly clicked on video idea and they succeeded. I dont think they actually cared about the answer lol. I mean I agree it was poorly done but I think he's missing the overall point which is to make an entertaining video that people click on, not to actually see what their dogs prefer. I mean I'm sure they were equally as curious as everyone else that clicked on the video that isnt subbed to them and watch them regularly (like me), but ultimately they dont really care about the result or the accuracy of it... just that it exposes their channel to more people (which again worked). Nobiggie, ,I just thought it was funny that his comment seemed to me like it had a scientific scrutiny tone to it which is what made me laugh. I get it though, lol.

You should have stood in the middle, let them sniff each, then sat them down and moved away. I think the pause between the two and letting them sniff the raw one last effected the outcome. And im sure its a newer smell.

Me and my friend used to do all sorts of similar experiments with his border collie before she passed. We tried all sorts of foods. The odd thing was, the absolute winner in all cases was the bolognese sauce we used to make. It beat out everything, including steak. Which is odd really because it was at least 50% veggies... but that dog would lick the bowl for half an hour after. Or really until we got tired of hearing the bowl move up and down the kitchen floor. We never found anything she would rather eat.

I couldn’t help but notice, when I rewatched this video that you have a coatrack for Sky and Kakoa’s leashes with “Never Walk Alone”. In the UK, I support a football team (you know it as soccer) called Liverpool FC whose motto is “You’ll Never Walk Alone”. I just thought it was pretty awesome! the question is: after a certain amount of times, will the dog learn that cooked it better and go to the cooked at first? 1 time is just impulse. they want what the smell offers. but upon experience do they choose cooked?

Really depends on what the dog is exposed to growing up really, as well as the smell. Most (key word MOST) dogs will go for seasoned cooked meat first, raw second, and unseasoned cooked last. Reason being that smell is a huge part of how a dog (and a human to a lesser extent) perceives taste and dogs are ultimately more capable of digesting raw safely than a human is. This assumes traditional cooking methods for well done meats. Some methods like sous vide with either a quick sear or no sear lets you prepare poultry rare without worry of salmonella and other foodborne pathogens while keeping more of the raw meaty taste and smell.

I wish I could feed raw, but my mom says “it’s bad for them” even though I have done research for years, and she just assumed it.

It's. Salmonella and parasites problem. Just like why human should not eat raw chicken but can eat 'rare' red meat

I've read that cats can actually get salmonella and get sick from it, unsure if it's same for dogs. In either case there is a risk but it probably wont kill them even if it might (and also may not) make them sick and that risk would be there in the wild as well. Diseases are really nothing unnatural and people seem to forget it. In the long run maybe they are better of with raw meat but a lot of pets also seem to do perfectly well on cooked
