He strongly supports the four-point agenda. Apex Body, KDA, and Secmol have placed statehood at the top of the four points agenda. However, when addressing the public, he only talks about the Sixth Schedule, suggesting that statehood might be his hidden agenda. In the last meeting with government representatives, safeguards equivalent to the Sixth Schedule and recruitment rules for gazetted posts were offered to Ladakh. However, the Apex Body and KDA did not accept these terms based on Secmol's advice. This makes it clear that Sonam Wangchuk's main aim is statehood for Ladakh. If statehood is granted, it could be disastrous for the people of Leh.
