Hydrocolloid bandages have been a viral hit for managing pimples. Do they actually work? In short, yes, they can be a good treatment for pimples but they don't offer any prevention. It's still important to get on a regimen that can help prevent new acne pimples from showing up.

Where do you buy them? I had awful acne as a teenager & now even tho I’m in my 30s I still break out pretty bad at times. I have an amazing skincare routine but sometime I still get patches of acne & would love to try something like this to see if they helped.

As someone with eds and very thin slow to heal wounds, using these is the ONLY way I might possibly maybe not scar from every single tiny injury. Amazing!!! Has to be left in place until it's totally healed first. I think it mostly works by holding the edges together and not allowing it to move.

Theses are fantastic. I use to have awful acne I mean all over my face mainly my chin and my cheeks. It use to be so bad I would tear up from the pain when I would get a lot of big ones in a spot. I tried everything and had it since I was 12 many many years later finally I was put on medication and about 8 months later I was completely clear. I still keep theses around though for when I get one every now and then. They can be pricey but if you can afford them I 100% would recommend.

@@eevih4258 they start to fall off after few days. When they're loose then it's safe to take them off. I'm talking about situation where a pimple was pooped. If it is untouched then, I think, it's safe to take it off anytime. However, you don't need to take the patches off daily - apply them with clean hands on disinfected area and they're safe to keep for few days. This kind of hydrocolloid patches are use in medicine to heal wounds and they're safe to be kept on for few days. P.S. I especially like using them before bed, and they’ll stay on all night! They’re best saved for the super painful blemishes! You can use them during the day too if it’s an especially nasty bump. To hide them a bit, lightly dab a little powder that matches your skin tone on it. Don’t go near or around the edges as it’ll mess with what should be a 6-8 hour stick time frame. 🥂 (Preference of powder? As clean as possible ingredient wise!)

Oh and I just want to let anybody know that has acne out there don’t touch your skin with your fingers constantly because you can spread acne by doing it!!! Your fingers produce oil so you don’t want to be touching your skin with your oily fingers and it doesn’t matter if you go to the sink and super wash your hands before you touch your face you’re still gonna transfer oils to your skin which in turn will help the acne be worse not better

Good skin care wont always help. If you struggle with acne, it is without a doubt your hormones are out of wack which causes the reactions on your skin from over active micro glans within the skin. From sweat and oil to hyper active folicles. Go to a dermatologyst, and have them work with your primary care to get it managed.

@Quesoquantum

They have small, fingertip sized versions of these that are great for those areas. I have the same problem and that's very helpful in my experience. I hope she's doing OK with her skin, because it's made me insecure too 😮‍💨 i also recommended cleansing toners and balms that hydrate the face. Toners in my experience are better for washing off oil/makeup than a makeup wipe, and they're also hydrating which helps to calm the production of skin oil. (Dry, unmoisturized skin causes more oil) and cleaning balms that are oil based are also very helpful and effective, they can clean off damn near any makeup quick. Of course, it can also be hormonal from puberty (I'm also the same age range). Good luck for her, ♡

They’re similar but an acne patch will have some slightly different ingredients that are specifically for acne, but it may be more expensive. I’d say try them both and see how it works for you. If hydrocolloid works just as well, then stick with that, since they can be bought in larger sizes for cheaper.

So, for some reason, my acne and the respective pimples rarely ever break through my skin. Instead they just swell and get really sore and inflamed. I can squeeze and put as much force as I like on them, but all that ever comes out is a skin-colored watery substance. If I don't cut into the area, the pressure and swelling can and usually does make it painful to move. These pimples usually form around my lower jaw and chin. Is there a way to stop this cycle?

Age play big part in acne. Adult usually come from external factor (diet, skin care, etc) while teenagers mainly are internal. Seems like your friend been wearing product that irritated her skin (same thing also happen to me). She need to stop using the product and focus on healing the irritation 1st. Limit the skincare use and focus on hydration and moisturing first (etude house soon jung line), dont go 5 new product at once. I suggest check out cassandra Bankson & liah yoo channel, this 2 people mainly focus on sensitive acne prone skin. Best to just do your own research. Also stress make your acne worse.
