- About Dr. Mary Claire Haver and The Galveston Diet -
Dr. Mary Claire Haver is a passionate women’s health advocate who believes women in midlife deserve to live their best life. She cuts through fat-shaming and fads, so women are empowered with the science behind anti-inflammation nutrition.
Dr. Mary Claire Haver is a wife, mom, physician, and entrepreneur who has devoted her adult life to women’s health. As a Board-Certified OBGYN in the Houston area, Dr. Haver has delivered thousands of babies, completed thousands of well-woman exams, counseled patients, taught residents, and did everything an academic professor and OBGYN could do.
As her patient population aged, Dr. Haver was overwhelmed with the number of complaints and concerns her patients had with weight gain while going through menopause. For years, she told her patients to eat less and exercise more. It wasn't until she experienced the changes of menopause and mid-life weight gain that she realized this advice doesn't work and ultimately led to her creating and developing a new program, The Galveston Diet.
The Galveston Diet is the first and only nutrition program created by a Female OBGYN, designed for women in menopause. The Galveston Diet helps women reach their health and wellness goals through an anti-inflammatory approach to nutrition. Dr. Haver believes in food's power to combat inflammation and highly recommends the unlimited benefits of intermittent fasting. As part of her ongoing research, she became certified in Culinary Medicine in 2019, specializing in medical nutrition.

It helps for motivation, mood, bone density, muscle mass and prevents breast cancer too. It’s a shame it’s not FDA approved for women like it is for men. We make 10 times the amount of testosterone as we do estrogen in our lifespan. There’s no money to be made in this… But guess what that day is coming and it’s going to be just as big of a thing as taking estrogen is. Women are finally speaking out about our health. We matter too!

The conversation needs to be about ALL of the things testosterone does for women, NOT just boosting libido!!!!! It helps prevent muscle loss (sarcopenia), aids in brain and breast health, heart function, bone mass, and the list goes on. Adding testosterone was the ONLY thing that made a difference with my brain fog, depression, body fat loss/muscle gain, strength and energy. I am surgically menopausal (at 40, now 58), so having no ovaries makes my situation different than natural menopause, but please, for the love of all that’s holy, start getting the message out as to EVERYTHING it helps menopausal women with!!!!

Why is testosterone only associated with sex? I have joint deterioration in which no doctor, surgeon and specialist can understand why my ligaments are tearing or snapping off. Menopause specialist has not even considered testosterone nor can she prescribe estrogen or progesterone for my symptoms. I highly suspect its lack of testosterone. and I would rather slow the process of this debilitation as i am not interested in being disabled or having one more surgery (at 9 operations now)

@SpiritQD 15 күн бұрын
@@user-jh8sm2ph5e I mean that for the US. When the UK approves it, it'll eventually make it's way here. However, we should ask the same question--our insurance covers only generics, which aren't as effective sometimes. Also, I thought everything was covered 100% in the UK. Is that not true?

Because libido is it's biggest selling point. So both estrogen and testosterones (check your bloodwork) are necessary in much smaller amounts when in perimenapause stage. And nit just fir sex but for the rest if the body muscles, fat loss, bones heart, brains, etc etc.

1) Apart from dosage, is there any difference between testosterone hrt creams, gels, jabs, for men and women? 2) Progesterone is great when you take it at night, SO when's the best time to apply the T-hormone gel/cream? Morning, night? 3) Because it's not oral or pellets, If you apply the T-hormone gel/cream, say, in the morning after a shower, do you need to reapply after an evening shower before bed to keep it going? 🤔
@tamral2489
@tamral2489 17 күн бұрын
They want you to use the cream in the morning bc it will give you energy so you don't want to use it at night. It'll keep you up. Usually you only apply once daily in the morning bc of that side effect.

Low libido is the last on the list ... we need our freaking vitality and basic energy level restored before we can even think about a sexual desire disorder. How about a basic motivation to do anything disorder, a basic want to drive 30 miles to see a family member but too tired to do that, a basic I need to keep my job for 30 more years but there is no energy left disorder. The ladies that only have a low libido are lucky, just saying.

I am very disappointed. I believed you were educated and knowledgeable. When I hear your message about testosterone it is clear you are far from being an expert. You focus on a woman's desire level when it comes to determining a woman's need for testosterone replacement? How infuriating! I have been following you for a while now and did wonder why you never really addressed how important testosterone is for a woman. Now that you are sharing your view on testosterone ..I will no longer follow you due to your lack of knowledge on this very important hormone. You mention there is no clinical evidence? I know you know of Rebecca Glaser a very respected Dr. and researcher. Please read her studies! Start with Testosterone implants in women; Pharmacological dosing for physiologic effect! You are contributing to making it impossible for women to access hormones that are needed to thrive and function. I am so upset knowing you believe the inaccurate information you are spreading especially now that you have somehow become a regularly interviewed Dr. on what is best for women. Please stop spreading these lies about testosterone for women. please.

Super physiologic refers to nanograms per decileter of T in the bloodstream. I can only speak to what that means for a male, but if you're looking at a normal level, it's going to range from 500-1000ng/dl. A bodybuilder who is bulking for a show may have levels 2-4000ng/dl. That would be considered super physiological because it would never occur naturally. On testosterone therapy, the goal is to stay at an optimal level, but one that someone I'm their 20s and in peak physic condition would have
