I used to make oven fries the same way but used rosemary instead of paprika so they went really nicely with roast lamb.

Me too, they come in a bag …called Oven Chips .all supermarkets stock them….few minutes in air-fryer NO oil, season as you like .

They fry just as well without being lined up. I fry 5 times as many, just as crispy. Preboil for 5 min first.

Flour. That's the step I was missing. Also, I boil the cut potatoes for five to seven minutes, then drain them, and they 'self-dry' via steam.

If you're going to use that much oil to bake them then you might as well fry them. Nothing beats the taste of fried french fries. point of baking is to avoid the fat and accept the resulting lesser version.

Lol i was about to say the same. Lots of oil plus add melted butter at the end. Wouldn't it be simpler to just fry them?

He used like two tablespoons of oil. How would you fry the fries with that small amount of oil?

@@ssoldner Wasn't a lot of french fries and and they were soaked pretty good in oil. Just fry them on the pan. Of course the best results is when you submerge them in frying oil. Also the most unhealthy. But it sure does taste good!
