4 жыл бұрынAvoiding scammers, touts and hustlers is a big part of travelling in a touristic part of India. In Jaipur this is as true as anywhere in India.
After exploring the forts I tried to walk away from the tourist spot to visit the local side of Amer, hoping to see a more authentic side of the city away from scams and hassle. After making my way through annoying rickshaws, vendors trying to sell me cheap junk and a guy who tried to massively overcharge me on some snacks, I found myself in a local neighbourhood being guided by the local kids.
All was well until some big guy turned up and started demanding money from me. The kids had warned me about him so I was determined not give him any money. You can watch for yourself to see how that turned out.

I'm glad you're okay Dale. I'm of Indian background and when I visited Indian sites, I was harassed by people too. I don't know why they don't leave tourists or visitors alone, it spoils the experience for everyone.

For a while there, it looked tense and dangerous. Dangerous since the path is narrow and a fall from such heights could lead to a serious injury or even death. I was imagining the big kid getting angry and deciding to push you over the edge out of spite while you are distracted. They seemed desperate enough to do anything for cash. Anyhow, glad it ended safely with no crazy sh*t happening.

@Ironclaw XII I'm just giving advice, Dale is a grown man and can do whatever he wants. I just worry for his safety. The minute a wallet appears and Dale's wallet is quite the fat wallet (!) then all sense of genuine hospitality goes out the window. That goes for adults and children alike. Get an older crowd around Dale in this situation and it could get very dangerous.

@@captaineureka I think at that point he began to feel really desperate to get away from them and just kept having them more so theyd leave him alone. The complication starts when the 5 kids that initially took him up that dale was planning to pay, were t the 5 kids who got him to the top, so a few of the smaller kids from the initial group keep asking for more money. Seeing how dale wasnt aware of it or even how he got up he was clearly overwhelmed by that experience when the big kids appeared.

I laughed about the remarks of the kids explaining that in the evening hours tigers are prefering strolling around this landscape and your reaction, furthermore I was amused about the final countdown on the roofs in desperat search for a way to come to the ground again, after having lost all your cash. A bit of advice, when dealing with persistent salesman, just ignore them, the best course of action.

The kid knew exactly what he was talking about by just a couple sounds from the Mario theme song. That’s pretty incredible if you think about it. He also said that give only 10rs per kid but at that time the small kid wanted more money( he also said that we caught the foreigner) , that kid was treating dale like a financial tool and swearing cuss words ( he deserves the slap) ! that's why he hit him ! Dale could have easily given them 100 rupees for all the 10 Bois but ended up giving 800+ rupees It was all because of lack of communication!! 😀 He was the most sincere out of all i would say

Bro doesn't matter he was part of the scam. I feel sorry for their parents they spend money on their education and they hope for a bright future, in return, they try to scam someone. if they use their half of brain they can take a road to success. Hope people understand the situation you are in a different country, people speak different languages what if they start ganging up on him or mug him.
