I have a 10' ATV trailer chained between 2 trees on the easement in front of my house. Trees are probably 25' apart, the trailer is tow chained and locked to the tree at the tongue. I get home one day from work and the trailer is missing and there's car parts scattered through the yard, a headlight, a wheel bearing, other trim, could tell it was a newer Explorer.. My neighbor came over to show me pictures of a teen that drifted through 3 lanes and crashed into the tree head on, pinballing my trailer into the opposite neighbors yard and leaving bits of SUV throughout my yard. The police didn't leave a note or anything on my door detailing the accident and cleaned up most of it. Had to call them back out to change their police report that my trailer was involved so I could have insurance repair the damage to it. Have no idea about the driver .

Same way the only tree on a desert road has been hit more than once. It's the only thing out there!?!?

I had a guy mount my trailer while stopped at a red light at night. No damage to either vehicle. It was a truck and they didn't realize the dovetail sticking out because wires to the lights broke (and they weren't paying attention). This in the video looks like someone was drunk as hell.

This is about the same as all those road signs that are run over flat to the ground. I never understood this until one time in the middle of the day I saw a full size fairly new dump truck come of the highway at a high rate of speed so it could not track the off ramp and completely destroyed a 20 foot high road sign and kept on going back onto the ramp without any hesitation.
