If you have any suggests for any other videos, leave a comment!
In future videos, I'll be covering each exam as we perform as radiographers. The tips and tricks I learned to make your exam fast and efficient. As well as other videos with advice from my experience in the program. I have a "teaser" of what's to come from an exam tutorial video at the end.

I just turned 29 this summer and feel like I’m in a mid life crisis..... I’ve working in ophthalmology for a 1 year now and I honestly don’t see myself doing this for another year.... I’m scared to take the plunge.... I debated between: Dental Hygienist ( for a while and was actually going to consider it ) but after I saw a KZfaq video about a woman who changed careers at almost 30 from dental hygienist to medical student ( after researching this field and more KZfaq videos) ... I decided not to pursue dental. So I narrowed my options to : Medical Sonographer and Rad. tech .... and even though math is not my best subject ( never has been, always struggled with it ...) I don’t know why, but my gut keeps telling me this could rad tech be my career, I just don’t know how or where to start .... 😣😣😣

Regarding the part time job- I have been able to hold a part time job so far, but I wouldn’t recommend working more than 20 hours a week. Now that I’m about to start clinicals, I have to let that job go since my clinical hours will be 8-5 mon-fri and the place I work is closed on weekends. Luckily I have a freelance typing job on the side to make a little bit of income, but having to quit is something you HAVE to consider if you want to go to school for RT. Also idk what state you live in but the clinic I will be at pays 47/hr for new techs so you can definitely make that 50 you mentioned with extra modalities!

I graduate on may 16, 2021. I’m registered disability, having ADHD and slower processing speed. I was really lucky to make it through my program. Historically, in my program, students with issues like mine usually get let go or drop out. If your a neuro typical student, you will be fine. If you have testing accommodations needed for any kind of learning disability, you will need to be re-evaluated for your accommodations if your disability documentation is older than 5 years. The ARRT requires documentation no older than 5 years old. I had to get re-evaluated and it cost $1500. Just an FYI

I never thought about getting into radiology until a couple of days ago I’ve been looking into more videos about it and came across this video. Very informative and helpful with respect to those that are pursuing a career in radiology. Many years ago I wanted to become a nurse and came across many pitfalls that made me loose interest in the program and decided to get into respiratory therapist. I went as far as four semesters into the program and decided to drop because it was not for me. Going into clinicals and seeing first hand the amount of work a respiratory therapist does on a daily basis made me realized I did not want to become one. I found out that I don’t want to deal with medication reminders, I also don’t want to worry about not being on time to give a breathing treatment. Or having to bag a patient who codes blue. I don’t want to deal with injections or cleaning a patient if he or she poops. Or having to run to a code blue call in the hospital. I also found out that hospitals make me sick. I don’t like them. I was willing to do the clinical portion of it for the program, but was not something I would pursue in the future. This is how I started to look more into radiology. I like what they do. I also like the fact that they can work in other places and not just the hospital. They take images all day and don’t have to worry about direct patient care like nurses or respiratory therapist do. I’ve been looking for a career like this just never noticed it or realized it could be for me. I like hands on and like to be on my own. I like doing my job without having people watching me all day. I’m hoping to get into the program this summer. I feel I can do this. I’m ready to start, perhaps I wouldn’t have been ready before, but I’m ready now🙏

Hi! I feel the sameee. I drop out of college in my 2nd year of nursing because it really is not for me. I also hate doing injections because I get nervous everytime someone's looking at me and get little shaky. That's when I tell myself I don't want to be like this in the future because it will just scare my patients and I will lose my job. So I was thinking to shift to radtech cos I also don't want any direct patient care. And less injections but I heard you still have to do injections tho. I guess practice makes perfect. I'll just have to control myself when doing injections.

Schools are pumping out students every semester and there aren’t enough jobs. It’s very competitive. Your videos are great! I am working on getting into the radiology program myself. I am 49 years old and have worked as a technician in a factory for the last 29 years. It's time for something new. I am all signed up and start college in the end of August this year. I believe I own some of this to you and your videos. I was watching one of your videos and really contemplating if I should do this or not. I went out on the porch and prayed to God and asked him to give me a sign if this is the correct thing to do. As soon as the prayer left within me ---- A hummingbird flew up in front of my face and hovered back and forth for what seemed to be around 15 to 20 seconds. Then flew away. Thinking to myself wow! that was cool! I then came in and hit play on one of your videos. I noticed right away you have a yahweh tattoo written in Hebrew. I think to myself wow that is a rare tattoo. I know because I have one almost in the same spot. Then I proceed to hit play and you say (so if your here right now its a message from God) So as you would expect My last day of work is Aug 15> I am going to give this 400% wish me luck

Yooo rey, what’s goodie? These videos made me wanna get into this. Three months into first year and doing it. Proud of each exam I do. Even the bad ones. Not cuz they’re bad but because I’m getting my game tighter. Thanks homie.

Hello, just discovered your channel! I'm about to go back to college in the fall and decided I wanted to become a rad tech as well! I have to take my prerequisites! did you have to take music appreciation? that's one of the classes I have to take before getting into the program! why do we have to take a class like that that doesn't have anything to do with in the medical filed? thank you for the tips! :)

I’ll have to find my list of prepreqs. I’m out of town this weekend. But if you google prerequisites for your local radiology program you should be able to find it. Or go to a allied health counselor

What are some books or online programs you recommend we use to study. Currently just bought clover learning and it’s very confusing just one big mosh pit of information with no structure.

Justin Lopez no worries, I appreciate you! I actually didn’t study anything before the program. But those are solid choices. We used both during the program. I’m assuming most programs will use Merrill’s if you want to get that. It’s basically our bible lol “Merrill’s Atlas of Radiology”

Um almost done with all ma prerequisite courses and so far I have straight AAAA... and I just wanted to ask you that on a scale of 1 to 10 how hard is the radiologic technology program? How would you rate it?
@XRAYREY
@XRAYREY 4 жыл бұрын
Congrats! Obviously if you’re asking me, this is based off my opinion. By nature, I’m a “smart” individual who enjoys learning and challenging myself. This program is as hard or easy as you make it. If you take it seriously and set yourself up for success it’s definitely a 7/10. It can be harder if you don’t study and get distracted.
