If we’re being honest Joab’s example is exactly why we should not support bad behavior in the name of loyalty to humans. I will say be loyal to Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us: let us speak truth but in humility and love. Loyalty to Jesus is what we must preach. He is the husband of the church universal. Our master Jesus is what we strive to obey even if it means calling out bad behavior publicly. Scriptures abound with calling out bad behavior of churches that even 2000 years later we know the bad stuff apostle Paul openly wrote about and warned churches to stop especially for the sake of the gospel of Jesus. He cared more about loyalty to Jesus and His gospel. The church will be perfectly ok, even stronger, if we call out bad behavior. Jesus cares about a church without blemish more than our self-image. As we do this we grow in love for one another and honoring Jesus before men. And bring glory to our Lord Jesus. God bless His church universal.
