Funny how I called Ram 3 years ago when I lost my 1200.00 bike due to my tailgate opening and they told me my truck had no recalls. Now there is but too damn late. I am so pissed.

Mine has an unintentional safety catch. I have to push on the top-right portion of the tailgate while i pull the release switch to open my gate. My tailgate has opened once on its own. It would probably happen more often without my right side release issue.

I just saw your ram tailgate lock video and I have a question, I purchased a ladder that attaches inside the tailgate and I’m trying to find out where the wiring is so I don’t accidentally hit it. Thanks

I have a 2013 Ram 3500 and it has opened on me too and it was recalled as well. I had the recall done and it still opens randomly. Had to get a tailgate extender for cargo cause I don't trust the fixes they do

mine only does this when the temperature drops below about 55 -60. ( Florida resident) It won't latch at all unless I use the key bob to activate it. 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 short bed

My 2008 Dodge has done this twice. I thought the first time was my fault. Just sux when it hits the hand crank of your trailer.

Got ya followed on instagram. Same handle. 👍 The locking tailgate on my 2015 1500 was doing some wonky stuff. Had some kind of weird delayed click after you shut it. Wonder if that’s part of the recall issue? Oh well that got traded on my 18 Wagon. Tee Hee! 😂

Well, my 03 only has 3/4 of the tailgate left. When will dodge recall all the rust and rot on frames, engines, seats, and everywhere else on the early 3rd gens. They denied to fix the rust on my 03 in 2005 saying the couldn't prove it was rusting inside out even though it clearly was. This is also a year after the New Castle plant closed. Also on a side note did you go to the Freeport cruise night last Saturday?

Rather tailgate flying open, than doors on the cab like the F150s, ford wont even recall it, guess people needs to die.

Uh, didn't I send you a DeeZee hydraulic ram for that gate assweepay? My '16 was at the dealer for a week. P0456 small emissions leak. I think they tossed parts at the wall until something stuck. F'it, they gave me a Enterprise Charger, which, I honestly didn't want to give back. Just a 3.6, but shit, that thing moved pretty good. Fun to drive a car for a change. That said, I went to my house in Flagstaff this weekend and driving the PW was like putting on a comfy old shoe. The power of that 6.4, even at 7,000' is impressive. Love that truck.

Went in for service last week and they mentioned this issue to me as they already have dealt with some. Apparently still no fix for it yet

I have a friend whos 2013 Ram truck has a electric tailgate that will not open. Typical Dodge junk. Told him to take it back to the dealer,,,,,,,,,,,

So really the basis of the was to inform owners such as myself of a Recall for a tailgate problem... this video could have been 30 seconds. And my 2017 1500 Express Club Cab with the power lock has no Recall notice, go figure... back in 2004 I installed a power actuator tailgate on my 2003 Ram 1500 Quad Cab Laramie 2WD Hemi as it took about 10 years for RAM (Dodge) to have it as an standard/option. My actuator failed after several years, keeping the tailgate locked! Better than the tailgate just flying open... Old Ram Fart I am.

What!!!! my truck had this problem and I had to pay to fix it because I was 1,000 miles outside my warranty. 2016 ram 1500.
