As a person Who's being "restricted" by his own parents, i think i kinda understand the mentality of this game. The "core objectives" you see on the game symbolizes the parents' control over you, as seen on the part where you're unable to do stuff you wanted to do. This is more apparent on the part where you realize it isn't you. Governing parents tend to force you unto a path you don't want to take, not saying for their own good, but simply because that's just the future they want to give you. They don't want to give you an option. You breaking the system symbolizes you rebelling on your own family, finally finding who you are and what you want to be in the process. God i wish i had a father like that...

After the accident. Your memories are faded and you’re on the way home. You, Liana, come home from the hospital. Back to the comfort of home with Mother. Father cannot show his face, and Mother doesn’t let you see your own reflection. “Angel” She calls you. “Angel”. Brother will not open his door or talk to you, “Liana, his sister”. The daughter, Liana is lost, a long long time ago. But the dad made a new thing, you, to replace Liana. The mother and the brother are both scared, of you, the brother hides in his room all day and does not want to go out to see you, and the mother is singlehandedly forcing herself to interact with you. But the mother has grown sick of pretending that you are her daughter, so she, bit by bit, reveal secrets, hence the "you can go to the graveyard, just this once". You, a robot or something, are to follow everything that was told to do, follow the critical path a path that is crucial for you to replace Liana. The "Game" shutting down is actually, you shutting down because you aren't designed to find out these secrets. The interfaces on the screen are you, literally. Your artificial consciousness. I think the dad is the sick one here, using a robot or something to replace you, that's why the mom and the dad quarrelled that one time. I do agree on Ryan's theory that the box contains your head, mom gives it to dad to build a better version of yourself, and when you are built, he cremated your previous self. I cant explain tho why the mom moves like that, why the dad wouldn't show his face, why the artificial consciousness wants to kill mother ( does it have a mind of its own? ), or why Liana took over your consciousness or something.

I think what's going on is that we play as a consciousness trapped inside a game, with all our memories lost, and other consciousnesses have experienced different routes before us, and all those routes lead to us dying. In the last ending, the consciousness that Ryan was playing as found out the truth about all that was going on, and the dad found out the consciousness found out about the truth. Am I getting this correct?

Okay so you know how when the father called and someone came up and bothered him and he yelled back I’m talking to my wife. And he didn’t bring his daughter up cus he’d sound crazy cus she was dead

I thought this was supposed to be horror, but its so good and deals with some psychology or something What I pieced together is that, we are a robot or ai or clone that was meant to replace their daughter because probably she died of accident. The mother is scared because we do whatever's necessary to complete or *core objective* which is to be with them or mother, which in the process we've done horrible and maybe violent things. The father is researching about how to improve our system, and was surprised that we were able to break the code and deny the *core objective*, that's why I think the theme is rebirth, and why father said that "new self, new name", probably realized that he can't bring their daughter back, and instead happy that failures created a way to create his new "daughter" and was satisfied with it. The game was so good, didn't expect it, I'll give you that

So Ryan basically your a robot of the girl who died an AI. The play is called Angel since you follow the path. From what I get you were destroyed and recreated over and over because your core kept getting corrupted and you didn’t turn out the way that the parents and brother wanted but eventually you broke from you set path and began anew. The vision thing the mother was talking about was a literal representation of what she meant. In your eyes everything looked janky and robotic because you were a robot but to her everything was real. To you it looks like a simulation but that’s only because of how you were made. Also since you were a robot you had trouble disobey orders. Each time you failed she’d cut off your head/remove the core put it in a box for redownloading and burn your body hence the fire in the background

You know it’s gonna be a good vid when it’s longer than 1 hour

This really reminds me of the 2009 movie Astro Boy with how that all went down...that had a happy ending...but this was more entertaining...big thanks to Ryan of course.

This game does a great job being spooky as hell and a terrible job making basic sense. Near the end of the game it devolves into cheesy cyberpunk philosophy, the sort of thing only a teenager thinks is thoughtful or clever. Ryan actually skips a bit of the intended game flow - you're expected to need three tries to beat the game. CYCLE 1 - When father calls, he mentions that he had a conversation with mother earlier in the orchard. CYCLE 2 - Catch the conversation in the orchard. Mother will say that she will leave the master bedroom unlocked on Friday evening. - Go into the master bedroom and hide in the closet to listen to mother and father talk / argue. Mother will mention the prized possession and Wednesday afternoon. CYCLE 3 - Use the prized possession on Wednesday afternoon (which is after collecting the apples but before returning them to Mother.)

Hello people who's still up in the middle of the night just to watch ryan getting jumpscared every 10 mins

taking a quick guess at what the game is about 10 mins in the vid, the mother is a robot, the brother is dead and gave his heart to liana and the father gave his face.

So you play as a robot/AI version of their daughter who died. You are programmed to think you are her, but you don’t have any of her memories. All you have is the objective “Be with mother”. You don’t know why you have to do it but you have to. In the good ending you fight against your objective and realize you aren’t Liana. You are one of many attempted replacements of her. That’s why mother is afraid of you and keeps your brother hidden away. In the bad ending you follow the core objective which leads to you being killed by Mother.

I think Ryan is either losing his mind from this game, or displaying his Oscar worthy performance, in which case, give him a damn Oscar

Hold on. I don't know somebody mentioned this and I'm sorry if they did. But during the beginning of the game you're asked to grab the heavy box from the house. The day before father picks you up, mother removes your core/head. Does that mean that the box heavy box had the head of your previous variant inside?

the burning in the distance was really suspicious, the mom was absent that time so my best guess going into this is that burnt it. she somthing along the lines of "i was busy with something last night." so this is my best assumption. Edit: since the father said "its dangerous to show you my face" or something and multiple mothers appear, im guessing its either a fake family, or the father made multiple robots?? the second one is wild, but its th only way i know of explaining the moms movement, and the fact that Liana has to recover her memories... edit 2: oh my god i predicted the robot part

I like this game. It's creepy in a way that other games aren't. The music between transitions is unsettling. I expected the mom to be evil, but the plot twist and mystery had me hooked. This is my 4th time watching this video, and I'll definitely watch it more when I want to watch something creepy.

Man, this game hits so much harder when you're a DID system. The derealization. Trying to remember your past. Having alters who can memory block you to keep you from remembering. Realizing you're in a bad situation and need to get out. Meeting other alters and working together to escape and have a better life. Dang, this is a great game.
