GG has a lot of $ to pour in to this stuff. That’s why they can do it. Obv it’s an amazing format and original idea, but there’s no way a US site could afford to do this. It’s sad. Just let us have online poker in the USA and let us play with most other countries. Poker doesn’t make the sportsbooks money in the US anyway really, so just let it go free. You’ll have all the pros moving back here instead of going to Canada and Europe etc to play all the big series. Truly a joke. And I’m in a state with regulated casino sports and poker, we can play with like 2-3 other states or something. But it’s a joke.

What a phenomenal concept and it’s amazing to watch poker pros who are used to flying solo as that’s how they made their careers learn to work together for a common goal. The expert commentary from all while they’re sweating their teammates and opponents is seriously pure TV gold and compelling. I like all the players and it’s sad to see some greats go with the first brutal elimination (sadly clubs never had a chance, nothing went their way and skill can only take you so far if none of your hands make), but it’s very intriguing to see how they’ll switch it up next round. I do have a favorite I’m rooting for of all the players - it’s my sister Maria ❤ Just so proud of all she’s accomplished and love seeing her in her element rocking it with her colleagues.

Am I crazy to say I feel like we’re in another poker boom right now?! This is such an interesting concept and is making poker fun to watch again. I think what so many people love about the classic poker shows in the early 2000’s is that you could watch along these world renowned players and kind of pick their thought process/play along and see how you would fare… This show is bringing that back for the next generation of upcoming players like myself. And not just in the same old way but a completely new format. Amazing!!

1. David J9 vs Jason 76: I like the way both players played this. Jason's xr flop with range advantage + the double gutter is pretty standard, but once it gets called it's really not getting any of David's hands off the turn so I like the shut down. It's quite interesting David chose to bomb the turn. It's clearly not for value. It seems that he just wants to end the hand and just make Koon be down the 200k put in already, which means he puts Jason basically on what he had, and Jason can't chase. Considering he just really wants to finish above Jason, it's quite sound to just put a 1M chip gap between them. 2. Jason AK vs Jungle Q5: It's quite interesting to see Jason limp AK in SB after Maria did that (into AA lol) yesterday. They're 50bb deep here so you're can't check shove. I like the flop check check. Jungle chose to go full pot on the turn, which is interesting. Q5 is quite obviously the best hand, but it's interesting that he knew Jason's either not calling, or paying the max with a bluff catcher. I like Jason's river check as well, whether Jungle has value or a bluff he's most likely continuing. I'm surprised by full pot again on the river. Jungle's hand is not polarized, which means he really just thinks Jason pays off this much with a small pair. I wonder if he bet smaller Jason would check raise tptk though. Usually it's unnecessary, since Jungle could have just smashed the board after checking BB pre, but the pros like thin value. I also wonder if Jason bluff catches without hitting river. Technically if there's no more hearts/low cards, nothing would've changed on river and AK would still be nut no pair. 3. Jason Ks8 vs David T8: wow I'm really liking the hands in this heat so far. I do like Jason's flop bet and turn check, as equity has improved for BB's range, and you're basically dead to AX anyway. I'm shocked by David's 90% pot bet on the river. It seems like he thinks T8 is not the best hand, but by having an 8 it leaves Jason with very little straights or 2ps. There's a chance Jason just has T9, but it seems like he wants to get Jason off AX. I did not think Jason would play back with Ks, as played I really doubt it would get David off real hands. It's quite an amazing call, cuz it's so often a station punt. I agree with Charlie lol, wth did he cheat? XD 4. David AJ vs Fedor A8: OK this is weird. A8s can call in deep stack cash, but I don't think it's strong enough to call over 25% of your stack with in this format. If Kyna made this call in round 1 I'd think she's just uncomfortable and forcing herself to defend. I'm not saying Fedor can't make mistakes but this seems beneath him. But last week I thought some of Daniel & Maria's plays were ridiculous and they were able to explain and make total sense, so what do I know. I really don't understand Fedor's flop call either. Really continuing just with a backdoor? You can't just hope David has QJ and bricks and maybe you win. Him checking back the turn after David checked really shows how bad the flop (and by extension preflop) call was. If you call flop I hope you're floating to pull the trigger later, not just hoping people have garbage and give up. I really don't like David's river bluff, especially considering that he really can't let Jason finish ahead of him. He had a really bizarre story too. literally only repping 2 combos of ATs? I guess that's why Fedor considered the call with Ah? But yeah, it's hard to find a bluff you beat with A8. Also I think Maria's right. If David gave up river Fedor had to bluff. 5. Aiyaa KK < AQ is brutal. I'm not sure Koon really wanted Fedor to be the first person out. His coin gap with David and Jungle were both smaller. If he knocked out Fedor he might have to finish first to save his team, where if David/Jungle busts first he might just need 2nd place. (Actually given the final coin reveal, if Fedor busted on the AQ, Koon would need to finish 1st to send either Fedor or David home) But obviously you still prefer to win hands. 6. Fedor KQ vs Jungle Q7: Holy shit. OK I like Fedor's play on every street. It was quite perfect he just bet small on the river. Blocking the Q meant he needed value from AX, and it really doesn't get paid enough. If he had AK I'd imagine a larger bet. Jungle's fold was really good, but it's true Fedor was very unlikely to bet an A here, especially since Q paired so even AT/AJ is not a 2p. I don't blame him for using a coin for time. You obviously hate to use it as it's not just one hand, you pay for it down the road too, but this is huge. (Nikita using it for folding AQs pre was terrible btw) I'm surprised Jungle didn't raise the turn too. I guess with 1.7M behind he couldn't quite shove, but A/K/T/diamond... that's a lot of cards you don't like on the river. Also yeah, talking during big hands is pretty rude. Jungle threw out a time chip and the pros know to not use them, that should give you an idea. 7. Fedor KJ vs Jungle K9: Oh wow again? I'm a bit surprised Fedor checked the flop. I suppose you block broadway draws a bit? but I mean A is calling, if Jungle has a broadway draw he might even raise? I'd check AA/AK, but I think just with a K you want to bet. I'm also a bit surprised he didn't shove for the additional 200k on the river. Jungle has no fold equity. I just don't care about QJ all that much. So be it. I guess there's a bit of the meta game going on that everybody wants Jason to bust ASAP. Removing Jason Koon and Daniel Negreanu from the competition is much more lucrative. 8. Jason JT vs David KJ: Yeah I think I like the flat by Jason on the flop, yes you could raise, but if it gets called it's basically the same scenario as his 67 earlier. He has 2 overs to go with the gutter, which he can usually feel happy about, and technically he does have a slight range advantage so if David checks turn he could steal river. Also Jungle's short. I like the check check on the turn as well, since David's not getting too much value from sth like 67 anymore, even T8/98 kinda just has 1 street of value left, and you don't want to see a raise or even check turn and lead river. I'm a bit surprised by Jason's sizing on the river. Yes it's a value bet but 2/3 pot is pretty big for 2nd pair. He's hoping for David to hero call an 8 this inelastically? I suppose that sizing stopped David from raising, but yeah it's still nitty. 9. Everybody's so happy for clubs to bust lol. They did get pretty unlucky though. It's funny that Maria was literally saying a few hands ago that the best case scenario is for Jason to go 3rd after Jungle busts. 10. David A8 vs Fedor T6: Wow that's a pretty quick call on the river. I like the small sizing on the river by Fedor, make it look like a value bet, but yeah Fedor likely bets a pair on the flop, so good call. 11. I would not have picked David to win against Fedor, Jungle, and a Jason Koon in must win mode. But he played well. This was a good episode with some good poker. 12. I'm very surpised the coin distribution was only 60, 45, 22, 5. I really expected 0 for 4th place, and the gaps to be much larger. The pay jump being 17, 17, 15 also seems pretty dumb but OK. An additional 30 coins for the winning team is so huge though. That's more than Kyna has in total. 13. Yeah I'd love to see the guys on clubs to return for season 2. New blood's definitely needed too. I know Dan Colman is like half retired but I'd like to see him in this (Fedor is too). I get they want a diverse background too. I'd love to see Gaelle Baumann rep female players and European players, and Kitty Kuo can carry the Asian fans. I'd actually like to see Phil Hellmuth blow up nonstop in the backroom. But I think the backroom makes everybody hilarious. 14. I still wish there was a play for your life round though, but I guess it'd be hard to make the head count work. I suppose if you start at 20 and go to 15, adding another player creates 16, but after that it's a bit difficult. 14. The chip ranking really shows how much you want to go later. Olga won the 1st heat and is only 8/12 on the current leaderboard lol. I'd expect the players to be fighting for later spots more now, which is probably why there are so many arguments in the preview lol. 15. From the previews it seems like there's another team round with 3 playes each, don't know if they're drafted or randomly chosen now. Looks like Yoh Viral, Jungleman and Kyna are on the same team now, and David and Andy are together again. They can't do another sit & go round, so I wonder what the new format is. Tag team switch? I feel like there should be a heads up round, but it seems too early for that. If they're eliminating another 3 people to make a 9 player FT that makes sense.
