Jaundice is a yellowish tinge to the skin and the whites of the eye. Body fluids may also be yellow. The color of the skin and whites of the eyes will vary depending on levels of bilirubin. Bilirubin is a waste material found in the blood. Moderate levels lead to a yellow color while very high levels will appear brown.Jaundice can happen to people of all ages and is normally the result of an underlying condition. Jaundice normally indicates a problem with the liver or bile duct.

Sir your explanation is very very knowledgeable I thanks to you ......sir my child 5 years old boy he got jaundice now the bellrobin rate I now 20.8 this jaundice has started before 12 days ....In first test it was bellrobin 11.3 so suddenly increase ...so please guide us how to treat him ....we giving syrup beyon and tablet is actibile 75 mg and glocoon D we are giving countineusly two time .please guide us we are not able to do private hospital treatment due budget problem

My brother is diagnosed with obstructive jaundice. CT, MRCP, ERCP, biopsy reports suggest that the obstruction is malignant. He needs a surgery. However, surgeon told us that surgery can be done only after the bilirubin is reduced to 10 mg/dl. It's as high as 45.8 mg/dl on 26/03/22. My question is about the post surgery prognosis. Please reply.

Sir i have a jaundice from last 1.5 months ...my billirubin is 4 currently and ALP is 227. Sgpt/sgot is normal, i dont have hepatitis b or c either. First 1 month doctor give me medicine and said it will cure on its own after that now I am not taking any medicine just maintain my diet.
