Thank you!!! I started my undergrad last month. I need some advice though. I've worked in food, and industrial maintenance type jobs so far. I applied for a part time position for Vet Assistant at a local clinic Thursday. I'm not licensed but they said that was okay. I work full time, and I have off days I could work at the clinic. I also go to school full time. Is it hard to get a clinic job with no experience? I'm so nervous, I hope they call me back. They seemed interested. I'd love to work in a clinic and also get paid for it lol I don't mind volunteer work, though

Hey! I personally don’t think it’s difficult to get into a clinic with no experience. That’s exactly how my journey started. It all depends on who’s willing to take a “chance” on you if that makes sense. I would continue to wait about a week and if they don’t contact you back, just follow up with them consistently. If they don’t offer you anything, try not to lose hope! Keep reaching out to new places and people because eventually you will find that practice that would love to work with you. I would also continue to try focus on finding private practices as they mostly make up their own rules and choose who they hire/don’t hire. I hope this helped! I have a question! Can RVT’s write reference letters for you I have three doctors that are writing reference letters for me. I would like to have my head RVT write one but wasn’t too sure if she could.

Yes! Your RVT should be able to write your letter of recommendation. I had a former mentor of mine write one of my letters of recommendations. So I feel like anyone who can attest to your character would be a good candidate for you.
