Agreed would love to see skin colour with basic school stationary colour pencils set because as a beginner I don't want to invest money in high end pencil straight away..

TIP Instead of using an exato knife use a corner of a ruler - it works pretty much the same and the risk of ripping the paper is much smaller!!

Sydney K Cole thanks, it isnt that hard to get the general shape of noses, anyone could get it with a couple of tries, if you look at the nose drawings in tokyo ghoul, the anatomy is pretty close, but looking closer at it its only 3 lines, drawing that and adding shading will make for an easy nose that has good anatomy.

You know, Derwent makes pencil extenders that are really good. They are similarly looking to Xacto knives, but not rounded at the top and they're hollow. But they work like a pro. I can guarantee that your pencils will NEVER slide out because the screw-like tightening mechanics will hold it in place.

Great tutorial, as I'm working mostly in colored pencil, it's extremely useful to me. I have a question: When drawing a portrait from a black and white photo from the 1930's, is it ok to use a color photo of one of that persons descendents mimicking the pose to determine what the color scheme should be?

They are expensive, prismacolor are a great cheaper alternative :D
