Do service dogs need to be certified and have an ID?

But are IDs and certifications really needed? Are there any laws requiring service dogs to be registered and certified? Where I live, if you flash an ID. Your given a hefty ticket.

There needs to be better laws cuz when they ain't trined to ADA standards they yell well its a service dog in training. Service dogs are NOT the only animals allowed in public places, many places welcome ESD and many ESD go where the public is.

So..anybody can claim they have a certified dog? What about if they snap for some reason?

But,do u need to have a tag on ur dog back saying service dog ,which many people don't do it nowadays ,and it's sad,cause if a person sees the tag ,that says service dog ,the person will not question you any further about ur id

Legally, under federal law (ada.gov) you don't even need it to be marked as a service animal.

According to neptune township public housing authority here in nj they must have certificate papers according to the secretary mellissa gario however the executive director bart cook is also a lawyer of neptune township housing authority isnt correcting mellissa gario

She is talking about public access, which is under the ADA. You are talking about housing, which is under the FHA. I believe that under the FHA they can require verification of disability. You need to read both laws.
