He is the first guy I'veiit heard to tell you - don' try to force the throw rather get the smoothness in the throw!

It was one of the big mistakes I used to make. I thought I had to really throw it hard, but I was wrong.

I'd only seen a cast net once fishing freshwater. After moving to the panhandle I decided buying bait wasn't as feasible as harvesting it. Bought a 6' and after some vids I gave it a try. I only practiced in water, figured if I got bait it was a plus, but 10 trips later I was ready to just put the bucket in the garage. Instead of yt I googled and watched the top one, went to the water. I now have 7 net buckets, 6' -12' bait, and 9'-14' mullet. A friend of mine had never thrown either and one day she popped up with one of these in 6'. First throw, pancake, and has been at it every since. Fine explanation. Only thing I would add is if using just a rope on the wrist don't cinch it, get used to having it a loose loop that'll slide off in case you're ever throwing off a boat and there's props around.

After you get the hang of it, it's all in the motion! Tight lines my friend!

@@SkinnyWaterKayakAdventures I got the hang of it. First time I seen a 2X4 blond that I couldn't believe could throw a custom 7' without any slack left in it. Little different than anyone else but it works great on 8' or smaller, slight tweak and the bigger ones are there too. I now make my decent living with those buckets.

Hi Thanks for the great video...Does the method change for a 6ft radius (12ft total span ) aluminum ring ez cast net when I stand 5ft 9inches ???... Thx in advance
@SkinnyWaterKayakAdventures2 жыл бұрын
You should still be able to do that with a 6 foot net. The important thing is to get all the weights moving and spinning. That spin is what creates the force to open the net. Good luck!

Great video, Will 3/8 mess catch minnows? Thanks William
@SkinnyWaterKayakAdventures Жыл бұрын
It will catch larger minnows for bass/catfish. If you're crappie fishing and wanting smaller sizes like around an inch to inch and a half I would suggest getting quarter inch mesh.

@@SkinnyWaterKayakAdventures cool, Thanks for the info. I'm looking to catch large and smaller minnows to catch yellow bass also. Thanks William

I have one of these but it’s a 12ft one biggest I could find, the smaller ones are easy to cast but I can’t figure out how to cats the big one, any tips?
@SkinnyWaterKayakAdventures2 жыл бұрын
I've never tried a large one, but the majority of the time I have found the hardest part of throwing a large net is getting the weights moving fast enough to open the net. I would suggest doing a full spin to get them moving. Face your target and spin 360° and then try your throw. Let me know if it helps!
@walomeister56322 жыл бұрын
@@SkinnyWaterKayakAdventures You are right this is what has been working but when I’m in a confined space it’s practically impossibly to spin it. I’ll have to do some trial and error as there’s absolutely zero videos on KZfaq with the one I own. Cheers.

No one gets it perfect every time, but tutorials sometimes help people use a product. It was not to demonstrate my ability, but to help others.
