God, it feels so weird to be a Nautilus main. Outside of the shot-time buff in the early season, Naut mains have basically been in the exact same spot since the day the game launched. "Yep, really good weapon with Point Sensor and Ink Storm." you watch the ballpoint mains go through the rollercoaster of the century from "This is the best weapon in the game now!" to "THEY GAVE IT INK MINE?" and all the naut mains are just "yep. nautilus."

At least from what I've seen, tetra players just go dark tetras because you aren't really playing for your special with tetras, so the one with the better sub comes out on top.

Up until this season, the devs seemed to have thought that putting a bad sub or special on a kit was a good way to keep its strength in check. And it's like... No. That is a _horrible_ way to nerf a weapon. It makes it feel like you're doing less than you should be, just because you have one part of the kit that doesn't work for the main weapon. And now we're gonna be stuck with 90% of the kits being held back in this terrible, unchangeable way for the rest of this game's life, which freaking sucks.

Captain log: So far, nintendo has not reverted this change for some reason. While inquiring about these things, they have often been silent in most situations. My crew has also asked if umbrellas, rollers, re-flux, and goo tuber would be reduced as well but to no avail. On top of that, the terrible kits have made some of the crew begin to despair.

Funny how both my favorite weapons (bamboozler and enperry dualies) are the ones that Chara admits to having a slight bias towards and might be overestimating. For Bamboozler at least, I feel like there is an upper limit to what its kit can do. Autobomb and killer wail just feels like the definition of mid tier: not at all bad, but not all that good either (especially for a weapon like bamboo with such a high skill floor). Because they're both tracking abilities you can only do so much to make them effective, and having to rely on a special for combos instead of a sub weapon isn't ideal.

well i think the compliments for the kit more came from autobomb being a way for it to poke and wail having big combos with the main weapon. bamboozler's the kind of weapon you really would need to build around as opposed to like vanilla snipewriter which naturally finds its way on many comps

@@dznutskong yeah, that's more or less why I called it mid. It could be stuck with far worse (like toxic mist or reefslider), but it could be a lot better too. _Still praying that the next kit gives us burst bomb back_

@@32-Volt _Okay let's not get crazy lol._ Though I think I'd be good with pretty much any other special they can put on it. And it actually has a decent chance of happening too: all the old weapons with burst bomb now are weapons that had it in splatoon 1 and 2, and bamboozler is one of the only ones left that's had it before. The only others are grim range blaster (seems it gave S-blast it's burst bomb) and splat 1 E-liter (ew).

The amount of weapons that would be improved if you could just take the sub of one kit and the special of the other is insane. Imagine Tetras with Auto/Zip, Slosher with Splat Bomb/Zip, Aero with Fizzy/Booyah (well, ok, that one would still suck but at least it would be functional), L-3 with Burst/Crab, etc.

It's not the worst special but it's not great. It's fixable though, just give it bomb eating and the combo damage number back and it'll be pretty solid.

I feel like Tetra should be just a little bit higher, Tacticooler has hurt the weapon quite a bit but Tetra is still an extremely strong aggro weapon, it doesn't have a niche anymore, but it has strong killing potential as a slayer. I would put both at bottom A tier. Tetra definitely is not flexible, but even if weapons can fight Tetra at near Tetra speed, a strong Tetra player still has access to extremely strong burst movement.

tentatek splattershot is defiantly my go to weapon for splatzones its special plus splat bombs are great to reclaim the zone which is already a very big advantage and the splattershot on its own is a very solid main weapon who can do a lot of things i defiantly perform way better with it but it becomes kinda stale after a while (most regular shooters do tbh) if i want to have fun i defiantly wont pick it up as much because its not that interesting its just a basic shooter

You've mentioned that some of these weapons just need a little nudge to be top tear, but one change I'd personally LOVE to see is with beakons -- nothing game breaking, just a QoL change. When you try to put a beakon too close to a wall, it says "can't place!" [and you don't put it down]. I wish the game put the beakon a little farther from the wall instead. Misplacing (rather, not placing) the beacon takes so much extra time: I'm usually rushing to catch up with everyone else at the start of a match and have to backtrack once I realize I didn't place it.

As a Jr Main, Jr has much MUCH hidden potential. It has splat bomb, the best bomb in the game. Even if you don't really spam it, you can still play off it well. If you know how to play aggro, Bubbler is good defensive tool. You can play selfish with bubbler and still be really good. It has the same damage, and fire rate as a zap. On top of that, it has the best ink consumption in the game, combined with it being decently fast when swimming. I know it's more of a top level perspective but Jr in my opinion is extremely good. It's main downside is its accuracy. You'll get 2 or 3 shots off and then the rest rarely ever hit your target. Especially in a shooter phase, where many weapons like zap, shot, 52, splash and squeezer are all good at providing reliable accuracy. If I'd give any good tips for Jr, I'd say to be completely aware that you have bubbler. It isn't the "Omg I have to get bubbler in order to win", more of a "If I want to do more I need to pop bubbler". Flanking is also good since splat bombs are perfect for an aggro playstyle. I highly recommend picking up Jr if you are pondering about it.

I am a Jr main too and I agree hard, though I do think Chara is generally referring to competitive play and not general online play when making these tierlist videos. It blows my mind how versatile and fun Jr is for every mode in the game, its so quick and snappy

Div x finals set has Titally slamming Jr in EVERY map mode, which is insane. Jr mains eating good with that performance. They had 2.1 sub saver for double bomb at start of game AND had LDE on top of it. I really like that as cementing a niche for Jr as a unique support weapon

I could easily see wiper going to S, its mobility is just insane and with crab making a bit of its resurgence its high object damage is a great bonus. Stamp isn't good right now but with some balancing (*cough cough* why can it get shot from the front *cough cough*) the kit's synergy can really shine

@@Ivy64_ Ah, thanks. I'd say Heavy Edit is good on Zones probably because the high fire rate and decent charge duration makes it a pretty good zones painter and slayer, which also means that it can get Tacticooler similar to pencil in the backlines.

Imo heavy and especially heavy edit splatlings shouldn't be called heavy bc there's a lot of less mobile weapons. With all their focus on mobility stats they can escape situations better than the rampaging shooters at my level

Line marker is extremely slept on tbh, but the only buff Id give it now it would be 30% ink consumption, if you are able to hit 3 on a single target it should be rewarding

God, I'm glad that inkbrush is in B tier because it's such a difficult weapon to maneuver in ranked modes. I have a video on my channel of me and an aerospray (try saying that 3 times fast) carrying our team in an S- splatzones battle on Undertow Spillway. Which is already an easy map for inkbrush imo. The main buff that inkbrush has in splatzones is how fast it can take control of a zone by itself. But the more higher ranked battles you get into, good luck with that

Even considering vslosher as a mid tier on a zones only tier list is heresy respectfully. It’s a bucket with a splat bomb, zones util and counters object specials. That shit is TOP top tier especially with double / triple zooka not being a staple exactly.

Torp: completely useless vs every midrange bullet option in the game which are all really high tier Dart: can safely be used to poke any mid range weapon from outside their range while giving you their location around edges Literally every good synergistic part of rapid pro deco is nullified because it doesn't have torp

Nah because I consider myself a good player but a lot of my skill is owed to vanilla h3, so by your logic I don’t suck even though I can spam with h3
