Thank you for using science (soil chemistry) to get your garden up and running. I am in the process of doing a soil sample video (we will use Auburn university lab) and you popped up in my recommended videos. Very well done on the process.

Thanks for sharing how to do a soil sample, this had some great tips for a first timer gardener that is interested in soil testing. Can't wait to see the results when you develop this space with all the flowers and vegetables - it sounds amazing!

Great info as always!! Thank you. I definitely need to get our soil tested. We are in southwestern NY & are on old timber land. Last year's garden did ok with just adding in cooled manure, but I have many dreams & goals, similar to yours as we have turned into a business & need the soil to really produce for us & our farmstead.

It's amazing what some good ole manure will do! 💩We have a little garden in the city and got some manure from the family farm and wow did it do wonders! The plants gobbled it up! But I am always fascinated with this kind of stuff and would love to do a soil test just to see what I have going on in my own little space.

I was watching your seed saving video and am wondering about where is the best place here on the West Coast to buy heirloom seeds that could be the start of my seed saving. I live just south of Tacoma, WA, so I'm kind of in your same planting zone, right? There are so many businesses out there that 'claim' to have heirloom seeds and I just don't know where to start. I'm a senior citizen and won't be doing a huge garden but will be able to grow a few things in a 10 x 15' foot garden plus a couple of greenstalk planters.

What will you do to get rid of the moles/voles? I've had a problem with them(voles I guess) eating my plants.

I don't know about voles; however, Juicy Fruit gum works great for moles. I break the sticks in half and roll it up. Poke a hole in the tunnel, drop in the gum and cover the hole. They will be gone in less than a week. Happy gardening to you! :)

I had my first little garden last year and it was attacked by squirrels and another little Critters they ate and destroyed all my tomatoes and my squash they only left me a few cucumbers and peppers how do I keep the critters out of my little garden they also destroyed my pumpkin plants

Something I use is snow fencing. It's light and flexible. More expensive now then it use to be, but everything is. I lay it over my started plants, strawberries. Keeps my chickens out too. You can cut it to size easily.
