It was real nice at the beginning of the game where we got cool, animated wallpapers for each event (first beach, halloween, ff9). It's a shame they slowly got more and more bland with the soulless christmas ones and then just still images like the FF7 and the horse one. I was super disappointed after I pulled to realise there is no wallpaper for MH costumes.

100% agree!! And it was the same with the lack of free costumes, too. Cait Sith's free MH costume is such a big deal, too! Wallpapers are loved! Free costumes are loved! We love this game and we want to see it succeed!

I feel like the wallpaper was also on Capcom side maybe they did have ones made but Capcom didnt allow it or maybe pricing on rights because yea it didn't make sense there wasn't character wallpapers. The FF9 ones I have only 2 out the 4 wallpapers so MH would of been the same case so personally I don't mind but it would been sick to have Cloud beside the monster the armor is based on ALSO to add there should be a damm jukebox for us to change the theme since I can't hear music anymore when playing mobile atleast give us that

Honestly it probably just comes down to the agreement they decided on with Capcom. This is the first collaboration they've done with another publisher, so it was never guaranteed things would be the same as FF collabs. It's entirely possible doing the wallpapers made it just a little too expensive for SE.

I totally wishlisted every weapon that had wallpapers which led to me playing the game wrong i.e not following Octos tips on wish listing the element weapons for each build lol. Which led to less powerful builds but I’m a sucker for cosmetics 😂

Overall i'd say the monhun weapons not having a wallpaper is a positive. With those weapons dissappearing after a month, and no way of getting more, probably forever, the only way to get those wallpapers would be spending whats probably a years worth of character parts, assuming you at least got a copy of the weapon while it was there. I'd rather have no wallpaper than no way of getting it, or being stuck on waiting for character parts, like with the FF9 stuff, i'm 188/400 Sephiroth parts for his wallpaper, since i only had a 4 star of his weapon.

i'm a 2month old FF7EC player FF7EC really need alot of QOL too like.... the story party system - everytime you fail mission you need to rearrange the party super annyoing battle focus target system - they change target even you use the focus target...(auto and semiauto) manual in battle - i want full control but why after the ATB bar is full they will auto use a skill by itself?? battle camera - why there is no way i can turn off the zoom in when use a weapon skill? i know you can swap the party member to cancel it but i really think that should be a option to do that... i really like this game but sometime is so annoying to play....

The behemoth co-op battle (highest level) also gives a chance at purple night materia.

Great video and topic. Thanks for the tip on materia, I've been doing this for campaigns because Ruin materia is much cheaper to synthesize. I agree on the wallpapers, I kinda liked how they did it for the 6mo anniv LB wallpapers where you could get them by doing the event, you didnt have to pull for the weapons since they were limited. I do love my FF9 wallpapers though! I'm still debating boosting Kuja's Blade one more time for the wallpaper! Haha

It would be great if they could send an update to where it doesn't mute the media volume or pause overlay windows audio. you stated, the same music gets boring after awhile, so I would play music or podcasts while I played. It used to pause only when you played ads. Now it mutes or pauses all audio outside of the game. I'm open to seeing a jukebox feature, but it would be 10x better if I could choose something like Spotify.

I love good wallpapers (also as a content reminder) and I'm very disappointed that the MH event didn't come with any char wallpapers showing their new costumes/weapons. This also makes it look like less effort is being put into the game - which isn't a good thing either. I change wallpapers quite often - but the FF9 wallpaper for Aerith is almost always in it. I wish we could have more than 4 too. And I’d also love to see a jukebox - great call.

You are right, I've been pulling all Tifa's weapons since the release of the game, mostly because of her wallpapers. And yeah, I only pull for her.

idk, it's possible they didn't give us wallpapers to INCREASE the fomo factor. I'm someone who's more into collecting things than chasing the meta, and whether I pull or skip is almost 100% determined by how much I like the costume. as an example, I only pulled enough to get a copy of FFIX Tifa's weapon because I didn't absolutely love the costume itself and was satisfied just having the wallpaper of it. on the flip side, I'm not crazy about Cloud or Tifa's costumes in this collab, but I got lucky with my stamps on Zack/Cloud and I'm thinking about finishing my last couple pulls to get a Cloud's solely because there's not a wallpaper of it. not giving us wallpapers means the only way to ever have the costume in any capacity is to pull for it and actually get it.

Dunno about wallpapers, but the last week or two I've been noticing that Auto and Speed Up don't seem to be working....either on Steam or my phone. Like things will be sluggish and all the characters command gauges will be full and things will just drag on. Then if I click/touch the Auto/Speed Up buttons suddenly the game will remember that i have those engaged. It started out just once in awhile, but it seems like it's pretty much every time I log in now.

I'm always so lazy when it comes to materia rolling since I have solid 4-stars for everything now, though I've tried to collect night mats since they're used for not only ruins but blizzard. Mostly I just roll a bunch in a row if I happen to need a sigil/stat combination for an event 😆

As someone who’s been watching your EC content from the start, I remember you mentioning the jukebox idea early on! Such a good idea I wish Square would capitalize on 😩 Hell, I’d even be happy with just the the FF7 OST (with paying for expansions as crossovers came out or something)

I’ve already cycled through my elemental and sigil materia and wiped out any of the bad ones. It doesn’t make much sense to me to keep making materia at present if I have 4X 4 stars+ of everything and I’m good on Gil. I’m just wondering how long I’ll be sitting on my upgrade stash until something new happens with the game.

Just wish that they'd allow you to select more than 4 wallpapers! If they allow random to select through all of them, why don't they allow us to select the ones we want and randomize only those!?

I'm okay with wallpapers being still images. What I would like is the ability to disable the seasonal ones when it's not their time. As is, it's either all the wallpapers or just 4 of them.

honestly i would love to get a Tifa MH collab wallpaper, but since i should not pull on it, i really am happy there is none XD i agree its really sad to not give out multiple wallpapers on a moneygrab events. MAYBE the MH collab wasnt just fueled with all the love they threw into the ff9 collab. Which is understandable. The fact that they completely ignored the collab weapon wallpapers was VERY noticeable. Glad we're finally talking about it. Feels very wrong. The jukebox is something I recognised a need for on Day 1. CRAZY that we still don't have the option to play our own title music.

About the materia, I don't think we really have "more" chance of having 4 or 5 star materia if we garanty 3 star. After doing more than 4000 synthesis using a bunch of material, or raw synthesis, here how it seems to work (for me) - Without material (pourcentage as an exemple, they are NOT the true value) : * 1 star : 50% * 2 star : 35% * 3 star : 10% * 4 star : 4% * 5 star : 1% - With max out material * 3 star : 95% * 4 star : 4% * 5 star : 1% => Same chance to get a 4 or 5 star, just no chance to get less. The only thing useful when you add material is to garanty 3 sub stat. Because you can get a 5 star with only 1 starting sub stat, and that HURT... (you get a 5 star no better than a 3 star) My advise is : If you can go up to garanty 3 star, go for it. If not, just going 2star - 3 substat won't really matter if you're aiming for 4 or 5 star (if you already have good 3 star) Again, I might be wrong, but for me, it's how it feels...

Smelly, just a pointer, don't farm/ prioritize grindstones. Select an event weapon you have already gotten to +20 and just exchange the extra copies (100->15 purple ones). In one event you will probably get more grindstones than you will need in a decade of weapons that will come out. Probably for just a few stamina pots...
