Squeegee your shower walls every time you shower. Use the hand towel you are about to replace, to wipe down the vanity and mirror, just with a bit of water. Use an old toothbrush with vinegar on any hard water buildup. Use a bit of dampened toilet paper to pick up dust and hairs from corners, then just throw it away. Use a designated “toilet” brush to scrub corners of the bathtub and shower floor. Use liquid soap rather than bar soap to minimize soap scum.

I keep one of those scrub brushes that you fill with dish soap (oxo i think) in my shower. I keep it filled with Dawn dish soap and a couple of times a week, i just scrub down my shower walls and floor after my shower before I get out. I then give it a rinse with the hand held shower head. Keeps it sparkling clean and only takes minutes.

Thank you, Brandon, this was one of my favorites. I enjoy cleaning the bathroom and your methods are very logical and organized; I especially like your laminated checklist! Your top-to-bottom approach is spot on. When I begin, however, I remove everything from the counters, the doggie water bowls (the one in the bathroom is out of the way, is in the coolest room in the house, and splashes don't matter as much), the soap and toothbrush, then begin with the products. I'm always concerned the overspray from cleaning chemicals might contact those items, so removing them first avoids this and makes for more efficient cleaning. I also wipe down all items before replacing them, as well as toilet roll holder, towel racks, shower rod and shower head/stem. Great job, and nice looking bathroom 😁👍

The only thing I do differently in regards to the 'order of operations' is that I spritz the toilet bowl cleaner in the bowl before I start with the mirrors (I do 'top-down-cleaning" like you do). This way the toilet bowl cleaner is doing its job and is ready to be scrubbed when I get to it - no more waiting for it to drip down and coat the inside of the bowl with the cleaner before scrubbing it.

I love your cleaning caddy idea and the laminated checklist!!! I bought the BKF products for my shower and they are outstanding. Thank you for the recommendations! I recently replaced my sink faucet with a faucet that pulls out with a hose (like a kitchen faucet) and I love how easy it makes cleaning. It has a “blast” setting (that’s probably not the official name lol) which is helpful for removing gunk like dried toothpaste. I also replaced my toilet seat. Careful when cleaning the seat! Many of the seats I found indicated in their cleaning instructions that harsh chemicals, like bleach or acids, shouldn’t be used. The seat that I bought (by Bath Royale) came with instructions that said to use a dish washing detergent or an APC. I use Dawn Powerwash on my seat and Zep on the porcelain. (I bought In-cide after your recommendation, but I haven’t used it yet.) One last thing: I know that a lot of people have their TP rolls hanging next to their toilets. When I was living with my brother, I cleaned the cabinet (where our TP holder was) next to the toilet and was grossed out when I realized that I was wiping dried urine off of it. I’m not going to speculate on how it ended up there, y’all. You can figure it out. I’m just sayin’-if you share a bathroom with boys or men, I suggest putting the holder across from the toilet or on one of those toilet paper stands.

I read that the towel rack is the dirtiest place in the bathroom. You should add that (I like to clean the toilet paper dispenser as well since it sometimes gets replaced with dirty hands) to your checklist. I've found that a dish soap scrubber with Dawn to hit spots on the wall while in the tub gets me longer between scrubbing the tub walls. I do still need to scrub the basin quite a bit, but going longer between bathtub wall scrubs makes the bathtub part much faster during cleans.

Hi Brandon! Could you make a video on how to clean shower drains? The only way I can keep my clean is spraying bleach from different angles and trying to scrub the gunk later, although I tried many brushes and none of them is actually good. But the bleach leaves the plastic very brittle and since it’s in the middle of the shower, it breaks very often. Do you have tips?

First, thank you for your videos!! I've learned something efficient & practical from every one of them. This may seem like a silly question but do you recall where you got your bathroom cleaning caddy or the brand? I ask because I've used a caddy in the past (in general) but tossed it b/c it was too bulky & my supplies kept falling over b/c the way the bottom of the caddy was molded. Being a professional, I'm sure you've found some favorites & others you chucked. (I'll check out your video on the supplies you use - maybe you mentioned it there?).

I ruined my shower wall in our brand new house yesterday. The viral dawn dish soap and vinegar left streaks and drip legs in under a minute. It did NOTHING for the hard water stains. (Although vinegar works great and is safe on glass) I’m so upset. The sales office woman told me it was engineered marble, then handed me a specs sheet of the home and it read e-stone. WTF is either?! I knew vinegar was a risk but it did nothing to our other shower wall and I didn’t want to risk using BKF even though it also didn’t do anything on the same material of our countertops. These hard water stains have defeated me and now worse the shower wall looks even worse 😔 Then when wiping out the tub, the tub is peeling. How the actual F does an acrylic tub peel? 🙄 This house is not even a year old - just goes to show that modern day materials are absolute garbage and a rip off.

Sorry to hear about this! When I was told that trendy granite countertops would be included in my new house build as a special, I didn’t research maintaining them and blindly accepted and even picked out a dark color. Big mistake with hard water! By the sink there is buildup. I called the installers, and they said to scrape it with a razor. You absolutely cannot use acids on stone like vinegar. It ruins them. You also have to have it resealed every six months. If I knew all of this, I would have stayed with standard countertops or gotten quartz which uses more standard cleaners. I’m also regretting the gas stove fumes. Yeah instant fire cooks well but I have to open the windows with my asthma. Yes, the gas company checked and said it’s all normal. Next time, I’m getting quartz countertops and an induction stove!

@@moongoddess1978 if you are smelling gas, there is a leak. Vinegar is an acid and even diluted should never be used on natural stone. I wouldn’t even use it on quartz, because it can dull that finish as well.

What I do at my house and my clients: housees as well, is to put up a cloth shower curtain liner and then the nice shower curtain. When the shower curtain liner gets moldy or dirty I just take it down and throw it in the wash, then put it back up. Unfortunately it's really hard to clean a plastic shower curtain liner and eventually you throw them away anyway, whereas this way you can keep reusing the same one.

I have little kids in the house so I keep all my chemicals in a cabinet in the garage and not in the house. But I really need to caddy them per room. I always end up carrying everything in my hands and it’s a little chaotic.

How long does it take you to clean your bathroom each week if you are doing this consistently? I need a time frame or else I’m in there all day cleaning. Lol

@@NYNC88 - actually no I haven't, I tried to use gloves years ago but it just never caught on for me. I appreciate the suggestion though.

Gloves have definitely helped me get over that feeling! Also cotton terry cloths work great as well for cleaning. I just don’t suggest them for mirrors or glass, for that you can try surgical huck towels.

Have you looked at rubber gloves lately? Depending on what you mean by ‘years ago’ there are many more options now. I remember the dish washing gloves from the 80s (which are still available now) and I really do not like them for anything unless it’s the harshest of chemical cleaner. But the light weight gloves like Brandon is using come in several different weights and are much better for cleaning. You might have to look in a hardware store or online as I’ve not seen this type of glove in grocery stores.

@@paulap7366 - I live alone and don't clean anyone's house other than mine. I can handle my own germs, not really a glove person and I hate the feel of microfiber.

I assume the video skipped where he cleaned the sides of the outside of the toilet and the area where the toilet and floor meet. That’s where all kinds of nastiness hides. Honestly if that’s not clean, the toilet isn’t clean. Also didn’t take off toilet seat. Even more nastiness hiding inside the hinge.

Actually if it's his toilet, and it's just him or his family, and depending on how dirty, or filthy it is, he wouldn't have to. You must have a nasty bathroom. 🤢🤮

We do not have a bathroom vanity. We have a dinky "medicine cabinet" but no other wall cabinets. We do have something akin to a shrunken linen closet - it is one of the only two tiny coffin-sized closets in the entire house. These are the joys of living in a 100 year old cottage bungalow farmhouse. 🫤
