Your thumbnail stating "never have Brake /Dust Again" is what caught my eye. To me the only "Never have Brake Dust again is with the Carbon Ceramic Brake setup. I'd like to see a comparison in order to become a believer if that's possible. Thanks in advance Mike. Save the Wave 🙋‍♂

These will be really good to eliminate brake dust, but maybe not as good as ceramic pads and rotors. He’s already put 100 miles on them though and you can’t see any dust on the wheels.

Thanks Mike. I went with the Hawk brake pads that everyone recommends, but I still get the dust. It's a different lighter color so it's not so noticeable, but dust is dust. I may just have try his pads. Save the Wave🙋‍♂

Your lucky you didn't lose any fingers! You need to unplug the battery when working on your breaks so it doesn't run a test cycle while you have your fingers between the pads. Please watch out!

posi quiet pads are quiet, the main thing is to have quiet pads first, worry about the dust second, dust can be cleaned off, noise goes on and on....if these are quiet and less dust then thats a bonus

you forgot the backer plates which you should pull off the back of the stock pads. also, need to disconnect battery AFTER leaving the door open a few inches.. and open the cap of the master and leave cap sitting on top so stuff cant get in. the stock pads are crap though, you've got the right idea.

My C7 ZR1 generates virtually no brake dust which I attribute in large part to the carbon ceramic rotors and OEM brake pads. In fact I can swipe a finger across one after driving and there's no dust on my finger tip. Whereas on my dad's C6 ZR1 there is since it has steel rotors.

Should also remind people, if they plan on working on the brakes - especially removal of the calipers --- to disconnect the battery 1st - as the car could go into a auto-brake check at any time and possible hurt / injury them - especially if they have there fingers in / amoung the pads when the car does an auto pressure test , etc.

Hopefully Darren has better luck with R1 Concepts rotors than I have. My experience with those on a different car is that they warp too easily. I would not recommend them for anything beyond normal street driving, and especially not for track driving. If I were you, I would have chosen Powerstop rotors if they're an option for the c8, because I have used their blank rotors with the Powerstop Track Day pads on my current car (not a Corvette), and those rotors held up AMAZINGLY well with the performance of those pads. Otherwise, thank you for showing how this is done. I thought the rear calipers having removable pins vs the front calipers not having removable ones was unexpected.
@BrinkofSpeed
@BrinkofSpeed Жыл бұрын
I hope so too. He won’t be tracking his car so it shouldn’t be an issue. They learned after doing the driver side rear, that they could do it that way, so we filmed it that way. You can do the fronts that way too.

I heard that if you don't peal off the thin plate from the back of the Brembo break pads and put then on the Paragon pads that it will make one haed click sound when putting on the breaks. Not sure what's causing this but, the installer said had to add the thin plate on the Patagon pads to eliminate the one click. Please let me know if that's true, thank for the video.

Yep, mine were glued on [2100 miles]. Managed to cut the piston boot trying to separate the piston and pad. Luckily piston boots are simple to swap out. But when the piston falls out, if you didn't pull the battery cable, then you're screwed. You get air in that corner. Can't bleed it with battery cable connected. On the positive side, now I know how to pressure bleed C8 brakes.

Just change the pads. The pads only create the dust not the rotors. Drilled and slotted rotors are just for show. If tracking drilled rotors will get hair line cracks from the hard abuse and heat. Slotted rotors stay cooler than solid rotors on track. These guys need to put back on their gold chains.

Just leave key fob away from car so self check doesn't happen , the hydro pump will check brakes. Also perform parking brake calibration with new rotors.

Got the Carbotech pads coming. R1 Concepts says they don’t have rotors to fit my 2023 C8 Z51 HTC. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Anyone have a suggestion on drilled/slotted rotors that won’t break the bank? Thanks

So there is only 1 screw holding the rotor on? It looks like there are 2 holes for that on the rotor, but I only saw 1 screw.

You do not, most will use these with OEM rotors. Paragon has the best pricing, they are on sale now, you won’t regret it. I have 100 Miles on the car and almost no brake dust, dramatically better.

I have known ceramic pads to reduce brake dust for about 20 years. Get Blackhawk pads a lot cheaper and are top quality and you don't need new rotors on a new c8 lmao

Good vid & I'm very interested in these pads! However, more than half of the dust comes from wear of the rotor. Look at the PCBR on the Porsche Taycan Turbo. We have developed a process to treat rotors for zero dust & 1800% wear improvement over the non coated rotors! Our problem is finding a brake pad that can keep up with the rotor!!! What are you doing with the factory rotors? Maybe I can coat them for you?
