The fork cuber or the windmill thing would actually be really handy for my family. We usually buy a very large watermelon and chop it into chunks like that and store in the fridge for snacks during the week. Looks like those would definitely help cut prep time down! For cutting your melon into 24, maybe try not going right through with the first cut, perhaps stop about an inch from the chopping board, which might make turning the melon over and doing the 2nd cut right through easier. It will leave some cuts around the top to be done by hand with a knife though.

The really cool thing about that giant watermelon slicer at the beginning is that you could also use it to cut an entire cake in one go.

I’d imagine the big wheel slicer could possibly produce 24 slices if on your first cut you don’t cut down all the way to the end, so that initially the slices are still held together at the bottom

The scooping mould that cuts ball-shaped things can be used for so many things! Ideas: Make balls of red velvet cake, cover them with icing and mount them for cake lollipops Make balls of multicoloured foods and arrange them in certain ways Scoops of something that you can then deep-fry

The thing with the first gadget is making sure you get the perfect sized melon. Watermelons in the US are huge. And I ain't getting to personal melon. Nah I need the 10 pound one.

To get 24 slices, cut *partly* through with the cutter then take it out and rotate and cut those cuts in half. Since you didn't cut the melon right through first time it should have enough integrity to survive the second cut.

Honestly, I think that once a knife gets introduced, the gadget kinda fails in the sense that, well, you've already got a knife so why bother with extra stuff? But on the other hand, I can see how these gadgets come into play.

Another idea for watermelon I just had while watching this video is using the cubes that were made from the second to last gadget and maybe even some of the watermelon balls from the last one you could put those in the freezer and use them as a type of ice cube for like a fruit infused cocktail or something

Great video. Lots of fun. I was thinking of buying one of these gadgets, but honestly it looks like way too much work and muscle power go into it. I think I'll just stick with a knife. Also, I already have too many kitchen gadgets taking up space. Gadgets are fun for about a minute. Then you go back to doing it the way you always did. But love you, Dave!!!!!

I think you can do the last one by having the core to make it more stable. And maybe shrink wrap it once or foil instead of rubber band .

With the watermelon corer, how about going 1/2 or 3/4 down. Lift up and move to cut the 12 slices in half, making 24 slices. Flip over so corer is back on top, lift and line up back to original slices (or use a knife?) Should cut through and with core still in center for stability. I'd like to see if it works😃
