We have a 3000w inverter and a 340ah lithium battery but are they enough to run all our gear? Induction, microwave, deep fryer, blow dryer, dishwasher, vacuum cleaner, laptop and drone batteries... the list goes on! See what we test and what amps we get out of them. This is very useful if you're looking to get your own new battery system.

OMG!! I have that dishwasher to come with us in our caravan. It's a beauty & only uses 5 Litres of water. I am so impressed how well it washes & dries the dishes. I wash on P2 for 1 hour. 😍 We are hitting the road permanently from August after we pick up the van in July.

Great vid, as always. Can’t have too much power in my opinion. I’ve seen a lot of vans in my time, but I think the popcorn machine is a first. Love it! 😂

Having built my own van 18yrs ago, Installed my own battery system, Well before Lithium, I installed 2 , 260 amp hr, batteries, Full River, deep cycle, That gave me power to run 220 litre fridge freezer, lights pump, etc, but no gadgets, sorry I'm from old school, unnecessary rubbish, I got 5 days of power without sun, Back up is a 45 amp 3 stage charger, Solar panels were so expensive, Only had 1 , 123 watt, So relieved on 240 to top up every week, Lasted 12 yrs, Now have 2 agm's 270 amp hr each , 500 watts of solar, Runs my new Bushman fridge freezer, 1000 watt inverter, TV, Pump, Lights etc, All day every day, Hardly use charger these days, Hope your system gives yous enough power, ??, With all those gadgets, Happy safe travels ❤🤠🦘🦘🇦🇺

with heating and cooling yes it'll draw that much on startup wait till the compressor has gotten everything upto heat or cool then you'll see it drop dramatically! and it'll be be at temp and wont have to run like that.

Very good vid just wondering if iv only got deap cycle batterys would they still have charge in them after what you just showed us testing the lithium battery's u still got power would the deap cycles handle it or be flat buy now 🤔
@JourneyUnknown
@JourneyUnknown 10 ай бұрын
Hi David, l think the initial power draw might be a bit much for an AGM deep cycle. it's also not great to run your AGM under 50% too many times.

@JourneyUnknown
@JourneyUnknown 10 ай бұрын
Hey Pat, We both think the car rides very well and is quite comfortable. We have plenty of weight in the rear with a drawer and fringe (this would help the ride). Personally, l would go with the 4200kg for not too much more money. You won't have to worry about payload 👍

When you say 134amp over 3 min for the microwave its using 134amp is measured over amps per hour so divided 134 by 60 to give you amps pre minute I'm pretty sure thats right
@wozzatherockdog1778
@wozzatherockdog1778 10 ай бұрын
That’s kinda a pointless math exercise. More importantly it’s battery run time, which then also could be calculated down to a percentage of battery total capacity and if a high current draw item then minutes would be a good unit of measure. Time= Capacity/ Current. Their projecta battery monitor goes one better to give run time until flat at the present draw rate. If you don’t have a battery monitor and you calculate off device Watts then the Invertor inefficiency must be calculated in.
@JourneyUnknown
@JourneyUnknown 10 ай бұрын
Thanks Pat, yes we weren't so much calculating the battery use per hr. More what the appliance was drawing on the management system. although understanding what you're saying 👍

I realize you are a guy so would prioritise women's needs rather low. But I went through 3 hair dryers before finding one that didn't kill our battery power. So, absolutely you need to know what everything is drawing.
