I'm one of those people that read "Elvis What Happened" after he passed and it only made me more interested in Elvis, the legend and his life. Nothing in the book made me think less of him, in fact, I was happy to learn he was human. After that book, I read everything I could get my hands on about Elvis. I think Elvis thought his fans would leave him after reading the book. I wish Elvis could see the following he still has almost 50 years later.

It was good that Jerry Schilling stayed in Priscilla and Lisa Marie's life, sounds like Jerry was close to Lisa Marie, maybe Jerry felt, Elvis did alot for him, so he perhaps thought is some way of making up for what Elvis had done for him. He was very close to Lisa Marie.

"I read a book written by one of the chief medical examiners, who was at the autopsy, some of it was just out of morbid curiosity. They book explained some of what was found and rest will not be released to the public. The autopsy was ordered by Vernon and like any autopsy, I will leave it at that. I was always a Elvis fan since I was 6 and was 8 yrs old when he died and remember it like yesterday and have researched tons of information over the years about Elvis and collect Elvis memorabilia. Mistake looking up or trying to find out autopsy results, personally been haunted by the little I did find out, not something really needed to know. "I want to remember Elvis the performer, the man and extraordinary human being he was instead." I agree the Memphis Mafia members that did the book, I think they had stated over the years when they were alive they had a lot of regret behind it.

ELVIS SEALED AUTOPSY: Dick Grob has an interview on KZfaq where he talks about the day Elvis died. Dick says that he approached Vernon and suggested the sealed autopsy simply because of media and fan frenzy. According to Dick’s interview, it was a preemptive move rather than any specific information Vernon was trying to cover up.

@@FrankieLovesElvisyes. I’m not either. I personally think Vernon made a conscious decision to bury Elvis by him and NOT his mother because perhaps he resented their closeness. Vernon has to know that Gladys should have been placed in between them. If Vernon was not really all that good to Gladys then Elvis’s devotion would have likely been seen by his father as a supportive one to Gladys and Vernon may have resented that Elvis stood in the way, as a protector, preventing him from being able to do as he pleased. That’s just my opinion.

QUESTION; As much as Elvis loved his mother why weren't they buried beside each other? Did Vernon do that because he was jealous (if he was) of their love for each other? Just my thoughts, I think Elvis would have wanted to be buried beside her and I think it would have been more appropriate having them side by side with the way they loved each other so much.

Question: Is it true that Elvis loved Gary Puckett's voice? I read that Elvis said he had one of the best voices he had ever heard. I know you said Elvis loved listening to a lot of singers, but didn't hear Gary Puckett & The Union Gap mentioned. I think he has a great voice, but I was a child when he was famous. I just wanted to add, that I had never seen Elvis look at ANYONE, the way he looked at Ann Margret. I truly believe he loved her, but I think you're right about Elvis not wanting to be committed to anyone. Maybe he was never "in" love, but loved several.

I bought the book, "Elvis: What Happened?" years ago and could never bring myself to read it....until I ran into an audio version online on KZfaq..that door creaked open for me. They took their shots at Elvis but maintained respect I think for his parents. There is no mention of Gladys having any habits and was sick with hepatitis and Vernon drank to forget his poverty but not to the extent of getting drunk, also no mention of him writing a bad check for a pig that sent him to jail. What do you know about him breaking into June Carter's home? What about the pool stick incident or the young lady who almost died... I think from cough syrup? They made comparisons of knowing him in the old days and how he became later. Before he didn't like the guys saying 'son of a bit..." or taking God's name in vain but these were things he took up later. Also, they didn't say anything about his views on Jesus and Mary Magdalene...
@deborahstevens9763
@deborahstevens9763 7 ай бұрын
The pool stick incident was just confirmed by a first person account of someone who loved Elvis. The whole jail thing, with court documents is verified in Peter Guaralnick's book. There are other places to look for verification. The June Carter thing I have only seen in one book. Could be that no one else knows about it. It is a good story though, and rings of truth. I found that book to be mostly admiring of him.

These are the stories i love but at the same time, i am deeply saddened and depressed everytime. Why? Because i tell everyone who is curious about Elvis that i was born in 1968, yes the same year as Lisa Marie. I do not remember seeing Elvis LIVE because i was too young but i do remember when it changed. For years i heard stories about Elvis told in the present tense. I also remember seeing the "velvet elvis" stands on every street corner between St. Louis Mo. and Memphis Tn. One day when i was a young adult, i was in the hospital for gallbladder surgery and i was bored so i watched Elvis specials oń youtube. I started realizing how much i didnt know or remember about him. When i started looking him up more, i realized with every day that slipped ɓy, i was losing more and more of his magic...but why? I finally realized! It was then that i started telling people younger than me that they needed to talk to anyone and everyone that knew him because once those people are gone, they are gone and as the last of the ones who met him, pass away, the majic will start to dissappear. When that happens, there is nothing we can do to stop it.😢

QUESTION: Hey Danny and Teresa, I saw Priscilla's movie and It went pretty much like the book. It didn't trash Elvis in that it wasn't anything that you didn't already know. It did show Elvis lose his temper one time when he through a chair or a stool against a wall just missing Priscilla. Other than that it was mainly about when she met Elvis and their relationship thru the years. I really don't know why she made the movie.

I was born in 66 my mother's sister was a die Elvis fan. It wasn't until after the movie recently I took an interest in everything Elvis. I really thought he was a typical musician who loved the ladies and took drugs until🎉 after I read and watched everything about him; from interviews by the Mafia, documentaries, movies, home videos, commentary, you make it I read and watched it. I fell in love with Elvis and now I want to go to Graceland.

Hes grand daughter is having a Christmas special at Graceland November 29 NBC and she’s also going to pick a day where it’s free to get in to see Graceland so everybody can see it. I’m not sure if it’s once a year twice a year I don’t know.

I believe the book was planned as a blackmail technique. Why was the recording secretly made of Elvis, if not to use against him.. wasn't to help him that's for sure! Thanks for being so open & honest!

That taped conversation was meant to hurt Elvis. But I am glad it happened because Elvis reveals with his own words that that marriage was a railroad job, he had no part in planning it and alluded to the fact that he didn’t feel married it happened so fast.

@@pattipajestka9679...what puzzled me about this recording was why Elvis even brought up his wedding? Red West never mentioned it. Unless it was about this time Ms P had a Lien put on Graceland?

@@christinerathbone8886 the only thing I can think was that Elvis knew Red's hurt feelings on not getting invited, and perhaps Elvis assumed this was one of the reasons Red was lashing back. And it may have been mentioned in advance copies of the manuscript that Elvis probably read.
